Getting the CD is as easy as going to eBay or Amazon. Don't be so cheap.

You seem to be able to find the money to pay for several pints and a few shots. Sounds like a matter of priorities.

Hey! Maybe you could buy the CD and just steal the booze from a local liquor store?

These spoiled guys from US and UK... Have you ever thought that „going to eBay or Amazon“ might not be so easy? Welcome to reality:

- In many countries, it is not a piece of cake to get a credit card.
- In yet more countries, getting a credit card is impossible not only for students but also for freelancers (i.e. people working on their own, without being employed by somebody else or an institution).
- Even if having a credit card, the price might be too high. One dollar is not just one dollar everywhere – local salaries vary from country to country as well as exchange rates.
- Even if having a credit card and a reasonable local salary, the price still might become unacceptable due to the postage. (To illustrate: Although Prague is closer to Britain than Vienna and the Czech Republic is an EU member, the UK Amazon still charges us the same postage as it charges China or Australia. It is almost cheaper to fly over to London to buy CDs there than to buy them through Amazon.)

I’m not encouraging music piracy here, just pointing out the diversity of the life on our fabulous planet Earth. ;) Anyway, I’m a living proof that even a badly-paid Czech freelancer can get legal Pogues reissues and Definite Collection with a bit of effort. ;)

Yeah, well. Use whatever rationalizations you feel are appropriate to justify it to yourselves.

I won't tolerate the use of these fora to arrange for exchanging pirated material. This behavior is at best contentious; and at worst deprives the musicians whose music we enjoy of their salaries, places this web site at risk, and places me in danger of being sued by the RIAA (and other recording industry trade groups in countries outside of the United States).

Do not come here asking to be emailed easily (and inexpensively) purchasable albums.

I had crock of gold on order with amazon for months and then got an e-mail to say they couldn't source it for me so it ain't as simple as a few clicks on the amazon web site.

Couple of points - A secon hand CD from Amazon Marketplace or Ebay gives no more money to the artist than pirating a CD does.
However, DZM is right not to allow it here - there's no reason for him to take the risk.

The cd of Crock of Gold is available new from http://www.101cd.com for £13.99.
Do a search for "Crock of Gold" or "Shane Macgowan & the popes" - a search for "Shane Macgowan" on its own won't bring it up.
