I guess this was just released last week here in the USA.
Has anyone bought it? Comments? I read in the review there is one classic scene of Joe Strummer handing out flyers to a show in Atlantic City (post-Clash).

I'll never forget the first time I saw Joe, in very early 1980 at the Tower Theater in Philly. He had the appearance of a man who had a desperate need to get a message across - that he would explode if he failed, and might explode anyway.
One of the encores was "Career Opportunities" and Joe wasn't playing guitar in that - he took off his telecaster and without ever looking threw it over his shoulder stage right. From my seat in the balcony I could see a roadie reach up and grab it by the strap as it went sailing over his head. By that time Joe was shouting "I won't open letter-bombs for you" with eyes closed and veins popping out of his temples.
Joe was the real thing.

All of the parts are genuine Fender or Fender-licensed. I tried to collect as many authentic parts as I could, so much of the guitar has the same parts as Joe Strummer's 1966 Fender Telecaster. For example, the switch, pots, knobs, and backplate are genuine 1966 Fender Tele parts. The bridge pickup is from a 1968 Telecaster (I could not find a '66 pickup). The tuners are authentic early '70s "F" tuners, which Joe put on his Tele in 1978. The bridge is NOS from the period and then aged, as is the switch plate.

In the late 1970s, the Sex Pistols may have grabbed the headlines, but The Clash became the more considered, musically intelligent voice of a generation.
The group formally split in 1986, and Strummer went on to pursue various brief projects in the music and film worlds, He starred in several films, such as Straight to Hell and Jim Jarmusch's Mystery Train, and released a solo album in 1989.

Thanks lad for the info...i cant wait to watch that documentary film of joe strummer...The finished film looks terrific. It makes the rough-cut my wife and I watched in bed look, well, rough by comparison. It’s testimony to Geoff’s vision to recognize the potential of the finished film to the submission. It is brilliant, clean and just clicks visually. They have everything from super 80’s of Joe’s childhood (remarkably well documented, I’d say!) to these campfire interviews of friends, fans and yes, celebrities at campfires in New York, on the banks of the Thames and elsewhere. It’s a very warm (duh!) technique. I think the film is one of the remarkable histoirc in UK, its truely very impressive array of footage that made by julien temple, including 8mm family films from Joe's childhood and a performance from the 101ers.

You have to check this new upcoming Documentary film of joe strummer... The Future is unwritten a documentary film that made by Julien Temple. if you have some info about this film can you please share with us? this film features contributions from Bono, Martin Scorsese, Johnny Depp and John Cusack. and The film features footage of his early life as well as rare clips of the band. Wow i cant wait to watch this film i think the release date of this is on 18th of MAY 2007...
