The Snake was released first in 1994 (original version) and then again in 1995 (revised version). The latter includes all the songs from the original release plus the traditionals Nancy Whiskey and Roddy McCorley, and two duets: You're the One (with Máire Brennan) and Haunted (with Sinéad O'Connor). An attempt to improve the original release?

I am from Canada, but I bought the last UK reissue of the album, with You're the One on it. I don't really like the song, but anyway. Unlike what you said, on the cover, we can see a close-up of the Photo, we don't actually see Shane being crucified.

Although this of course is an original Kris Kristofferson quote. Seems money already made the world go round in the seventies ... :D

I dont like downloading music but i am not totaly innocent if there is a track i been looking for in years and can't find it on cd i sometimes download. But my goal is to have the cd. I have bought my first cd in 1991 and i got around 1500 now. some of my friends have twice as many albums all from downloading and copy eachothers hardisk they reach this numbers in weeks. Without leaving a cent to the bands that made the music. For me this is stealing. Music on ipod and computers i just cant get the same relationship with it as when i hold a cd cover (some with stains and marks on them of from long nights long ago) reading in them looking at photos etc etc.

Same here. It´s actually nice to hear that there are quite a lot of people out there who think the same.

I don't have my copy in front of me but I am fairly certain it has Nancy Whiskey, Roddy McCorley and Haunted but not You're the One. It's a US version and I bought it when it first came out; there was version released in the US prior to this that I am aware of.

Yep, "You're the One" is missing from the US release. :? And as somebody already mentioned, it has a different artwork on the cover (a close-up of the original photo).
