FAY

I stumbled upon artist Stephen Dee's web site to find he has created a porcelain sculpture of Shane and other irish greats:

http://www.stephendee.com/caricatures.htm

They're pretty darn cool!

^^^^^FOUND THIS POSTED ON SHANE FORUM---how cool is that???

A model doubtless of the full-size statue of the great man that will one day be erected... where? Any ideas for where Shane's statue should be?

Right off the coast of New York City – replacing that conceited lady with a torch in her hand and the towards-the-shining-future look in her eyes. (In the same size, of course.) ;)

By that farmhouse in Tipp, for sure...
It was on the 23rd of June
As I lay blasted in my room
A small bird sang on an ivy branch
And the song they sang was the "Jug of Punch"

As Mr.MacGowan belongs equally to Ireland and England the future statue must be erected over the Sea with one foot trampling irish shore and another - english one. For a model may be used Colossus of Rhodes But with traditional attributes of Mr.MacGowan - glass and fag...
