It would only be great if you won. What if some guy who wins takes the piss and makes them play worms 40 times. This is a crap idea I cant beleive they are doing this. Its an outrage.

Yes, but it's not a Pogues song, is it?

You could put it with a Pogues version of "Faithful Departed" and it would make a great single.

Or is this sacreligous?

I could imagine you have never even considered doing a song from one of the single members of the group !?

Yeah, they should play something for Tommy. LLH is better than some of the songs on the current set lists. I don't see what the big deal is all about. As far as I can see, there is no law against playing something from Crock Of Gold.

I think the Pogues could really do "Aisling" as it had been originally intended as a Pogues song.

And I´d love to hear Terry Woods singing Grá gael mo chroí, one of the finest songs ever by a Pogues member.

So many good songs for them to chose from.

If I did get to pick a non-shane song that they would play for me (us), I'd probably pick Blue Heaven. Such a beautiful song.

Don't worry. They're not doing it, it was just a suggestion. Also, I realised I left RNiS off my original post, but can't edit it because I wasn't logged in at the time.

I wouldn't expect any significant changes to the setlist. '06 shows in U.S. were almost identical. At least holiday shows had a few from the vault.
Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, or something.

That tune is killer. Think you can work it into the set list? 8)

I've been meaning to get back to you on this but have been very busy. I agree with your list with one exception. Fiesta! Not because I love the song but because I would feel bad if it were someone's first Pogues show and they didn't get to see it performed live.

What a very good point. You can't have a Pogues gig without Fiesta can you. It just ain't right.

I believe Philip has expressed that there is little to no interest in performing anything other than true Pogues-with-Shane tracks.

Meh, Crock of Gold? I can really take it or leave it. The Snake is actually quite good, but neither solo albums have anything on the Pogues albums.

Infact, my favorite Post-Pogues album of any member would be the Bucks.

I believe that The Snake and Crock of Gold are way better than the two post-Shane releases. I'll even put them both on before Peace and Love and Hell's Ditch usually.

The Snake is flawless.

Crock of Gold has its fair share of missteps/indulgencies but brings much more piss and vinegar than PM or Waiting for Herb.
