Guardian Angel?

Post Thu Mar 31, 2005 8:02 pm

In 'A drink with Shane Macgowan' Shane talks about a friend/member of family (can't remember!) who died when he was young. He then said that they're always watching him like a guardian angel. At first I thought that this was crap, but when you think what Shane's been through maybe there is truth in it. What does everybody else think?

Yeah, it is Uncle Tommy – the one who fell into a threshing machine at the tender age of sixteen. Well, he must be the most overworked guardian angel around, but he seems to be doing a fine job. :D

And the Irish guardian angels seem to be especially powerful, bless them...
It was on the 23rd of June
As I lay blasted in my room
A small bird sang on an ivy branch
And the song they sang was the "Jug of Punch"

My God, even guardian angels in Ireland are the most powerful!
Rains are incredibly wet and drinks are the strongest...
(But, of course, nobody could compare to Irish musicians :D )
