A rather unique version of "Wild Rover"

I wonder if anyone of you have ever heard of the German version of "Wild Rover", called "An der Nordseeküste". It was published in 1982 by two singing "comedians" called "Klaus & Klaus". It's not a proper German version/translation but has original lyrics deemed funny by the performers - and obviously the German public. They sold more than 750,000 copies.

Oh well, how I do know ... in the mid-eighties you heard it everywhere in Germany ...

And maybe even more unique: in 1984 german comedy band "Gebrüder Blattschuss" recorded another cover version of "Wild rover" called "´ne Bockwurst und ´n Bier" (no literal translation again). It wasn´t a big hit ...

By the way, both "Klaus & Klaus" and german rock band "Torfrock" recorded a cover version of "Seven drunken nights", called "Der Trunkenbold". As did "Mike Krüger". All three of them tried to follow the original lyrics, and they mostly succeeded.

Germans always seem to do cover versions of songs that are not able to escape too quickly ...

Yep, a real carnavals hit. Also often heard at soundmix shows and in karaoke bars.. The niveau of the lyrics: at the nord sea strand (beach) the fish are in the water and rarely on land
