Hell's Ditch remaster photos

Have you got the "Hell's Ditch" remastered album? Ok, open up the booklet. What do you see? The Pogues like a bunch of pirates in a river bank. Well the magnificent city on the back is "my" city, the fabulous Porto (or Oporto), in Portugal. The river you see is the Douro and the wonderful Eiffel's "D. Luís" bridge. The boats nearby are called "Rabelos" and they were once used to transport the casks or barrels of "Port Wine" from the high Douro lands. I think Shane and the lads were trying to assault it!
So, if you have the time take a visit to Porto and Gaia, see our wonderful town and get a taste from the Port wine. You might want to attack the Rabelos too.

Do you recommend assaulting the rabelos before or after drinking the port wine?

well, i cant remember whether it's the pogue mahone one, or the waiting for herb one, but the one where they are standing in front of a mirror shop, and sitting in a pub and a cafe, i'm always down there; and i have sat in those places, and have a mirror from that shop, but have seen no Pogues members on my travels

near, but a little bit far away (if you know what i mean) from the Blackwall tunnell (south of the river).

i dont live by there, i just am there a lot
