.. and all-round musical maestro.

Thanks to Christine for bringing this to the attention of the mailing list:

MC1 on pumpactionpaddy.com guestbook " ...sadly years of crazy living have caught up with him. I told him he was missed and that has cheered him up as he is feeling very alone but he is very ill. Hopefully he has the will to recover and play again "

This doesn't sound so good, so if anyone here knows him and would like to send him a card, this is the address:

Yes, terrible news, though not totally unexpected. I hope Tom is out of hospital and doing better ASAP. He is quite the player.

Oim very sad to hear this :(
Really, oim the greatest fan of Shaneo's work with Popes and Beast is a genius with banjo... playin' wonderful, outstanding tunes and with emotions indeed! Oi haven't seen hem loive but what oi've seen on recordings its a musician that every band could dream of, great performance, great outfit, purest Oirish punk rock musician from me point of view. Oi can only wish the quickest recovery possible!

SHOULD BE AN INSPIRATION FOR ALL EM' BANJO PLAYERS!

I think the "years of crazy living" might be the phrase there, Niall.

Good luck, Tommy. We're all rooting for you.

i think he was in for some sort of liver surgery a year or two ago (round the same time mad dog was in lock-up, methinks), so it could be more of that. "years of crazy living" can do a number on the liver (tho' i'm amazed, when i look at a couple of friends of mine, at just how much they can take!)

Thank you El Kel. It is distressing to hear that Tom is failing to make progress. I know I speak for many in here when I say he is held in great affection by us. Please let him know we care.
