Hidden Track?

Post Sat Oct 21, 2006 5:47 pm

From The Snake is there a hidden track which begins:

"You call me an asshole and spit in my face
You swear up and down that you're leaving this place" ???

The CD was stolen years ago and haven't replaced it, but I'm not totally convinced this song exhists.

That lyric doesn't look at all familiar to me, but the meter seems very similar to The Broad Majestic Shannon.

The last time I saw you was down at the Greeks
There was whiskey on Sunday and tears on our cheeks
“I know all those people that were in the film [...] But that’s when they were young and strong and full of life, you know?”

No, there is no hidden track on my CD. Where did you find the info?

So I had been taping stuff for the car......left the tape and CD going and there you have it. Like I said it was when the record came out so it was a while ago and I don't remember if I had the UK or US version. I'd never heard it listening to the CD at home because I wouldn't get through the whole thing.

The tempo was similiar to Shannon with only a guitar and whistle and maybe 2 minutes long. These elements kind of spell hidden track to me.

Not sure about a hidden track .
But the track listing does differ from different issues/releases.
Bring Down The Lamp being the last track on the first issue cd , While latter issues cd has extra tracks includeding Donegal Express as the last track. While the tape has different running order again eg Donegal Express before Bring Down The Lamp

I've a vinyl version of the first edition of the snake, bought from cheapos in soho for 2 quid. Interestingly the bloke in there claimed that a couple of weeks earlier shane had been in there and flogged all his vinyl, and that was part of the haul. it has a promo stamp on it, but who knows? anyway i'll give it a spin and check for any hidden tracks, never noticed any before though.

But thats the point of hidden tracks i guess .
