Sea Shanty lyrics/Bill James

Post Fri Mar 26, 2004 8:50 am

Well, these lines:
I met with Bill James we fought over crusts
He called me a whore and I booted his crutch
Then we shared out the jack and we thought it a treat
The compliments pass when the quality meets

Who is that Bill James? Any ideas? Great Parting Glass site somehow omits this problem...

Might be the rugby player from Wales:

“I know all those people that were in the film [...] But that’s when they were young and strong and full of life, you know?”

Thanks, DzM!
I'm not sure if it's correct but anyway "rugby player" is the only one version.
Looks like nobody can suggest alternative candidature for mysterious Bill James.
