The Infamous 'Rock Cafe' Gig 2004

Post Tue Sep 12, 2006 11:31 am

Now I know that sometimes MacGowan has appeared doing gigs at the Boogaloo with Yeti or Pete Doherty and so on, but of the official advertised gigs with the Popes that MacGowan did (in which he played a full set of his own material), was this actually the smallest most intimate gig he ever played during all of his Popes days and in actual fact probably the smallest since the early days of The Pogues?

Did anyone see him in a smaller venue?

Ahh nice 1, so what was the capacity of the venue? I only thought that it mite not truly count as I thought he sort of 'featured' at their gig rather than playing a 'MacGowans Greatest Hits' style show but if im wrong then my apologese.

I was fortunate enough to be at that gig and even managed to wangle my way backstage and meet Shane and got a poster advertising the gig signed too. Trouble was the poster must have been freshly put up and the paste was still wet so when Shane signed it the pen went straight through it, this just adds a little extra personal value to an amazeing night 8)
