Met Shane last night

Post Mon Jul 10, 2006 8:16 am

For the first time. Whoever said you shouldn't meet your heroes was wrong. He was as gentle as a puppy, asked me what my name was and used it throughout our conversation. Trust me I was shaking. I asked him to sign my table reservation and underneath where it said 'usualdog x 2' he wrote Love + 1, and covered the paper with stars and 'Shane'. I couldn't help myself so I hugged him and kissed him. It was the best day of my life and one I waited 22 years since I first saw Shane at De Montfort Hall in Leicester when The Pogues supported Elvis Costello and my life was changed forever. Thanks Shane.

Lucky you! This should probably go into the "most prized possessions" threat now. :D Thanks for telling us, we're all jealous I bet. Did he have his bags packed for Tangier with him?

I didn't mention the place on purpose but I think you can probably guess.
