that sounds impressive but what exactly does it mean in english?

yes i totaly argrre im stupid and i am fluent in gibberish and even i didnt understand that and im usually the one who speaks a load of gibberish but hey

okay, there is a fellow named michael copeland who makes what some people regard as the finest whistles. they are fantastic, and not cheap. not cheap at all. their sound is very pure and flute-like, which is to their credit. now michael burke offers his own whistles which are expensive but not as much as the copelands, but fantastic as well. they have this more flute-ish tone. there is another direction in whistles though that one may go in - and that is not necessarily towards the flute sound but towards the slightly more shrill, more eccentric cheap whistle (feadog, generation, etc). as the tin whistle is primarily thought of as a cheap instrument - penny whistle - there is an attractive quality to a whistle that feels a little dangerous to play, that basically becomes complex because of its simplicity. so that is why many of the best players around the world have always opted for the cheapest whistles. they like this "chiff", the sort of quirky responsiveness (though hard to put to words) that the low-end whistles have. for this reason, the sindt is a tremendous hand-made whistle because it sort of manages to be a more expensive low-end whistle. why not just buy a cheap one then? many would agree, but the sindt is a very well-tooled machine; i love it; and it just plays with more pop than any of my true low-end whistles while maintaining that certain character.

oh yea, and mary bergin is one of the great whistle players who had always stuck to low-end whistles but has apparently gone for this sindt whistle

Yes, Happy Birthday little fishy. One piece of advice - this thread is about learning to play the tin whistle - discussions of your birthday fun should be had in the Misc forum up the top, OK? Have a great day. :D
