Not too favorable, indeed. This is the kind of well-crafted album that deserves good praise simply on that aspect alone....not too many being made these days by folks who even have a chance of getting reviewed or written about.
I happened to come across this album in the "bargain bin" at a pretty good used record store sometime last summer. Impulse buy - had heard nothing about the band's style, but figured it has one musician who's taste I trusted. Turns out it had not just one but a band worth. Started the record and couldn't stop it until the last song was over. I really enjoyed it. I consider it a true "album" - it's sound, instrument mixture and overall lyrical intent - flows very well. Pretty darn melancholy. Real glad I found it.

I love this album. I bought it when it came out for much the same reasons you did (except I also like Zander, so I figured there were two musicians whose taste I trust). I had that CD until I accidentally broke it removing it from a CD holder (one of those spndle-through-the-hole thingers, but it held to the disk too tightly and snap). I was devastated and spent a month going through all the record stores I could find in the Bay Area. I bought the first copy I could find - didn't care about the price. I then marched down to Fry's Electronics and bought a CD burner (this was ... what? ... 1998? Burners will still expensive enough to make it not an impulse item) and a stack of blanks and immediately made two backups of the disc. The disc then promptly went back into the jewel case and has not come back out since. I've since lost the CD-R backups to the ravages of tme, but not before I had ripped them to ~200KBS MP3 for the 'puter to use.

Does anyone here know somewhere trustworthy to order a copy of their album? I can only find eBay/Amazon sellers and the odd online store I've never heard of, and I don't really want to keep tossing my money out of the window waiting for things that will never arrive. (Been there, done that, and no, of course I didn't get the t-shirt.)

I bought a copy of "Goodbye to all" From amazon marketplace (angieisthebest) it was shipped from the U.S. to the UK in less than a week.

It was a second hand copy, but it only cost me £2.74, including postage!

I did the same and it arrived in pretty good time although mine cost a quid or two more. At least if you order through Amazon marketplace you have some comeback if the item doesn't show up.
