I saw that. It doesn't have a year listed for those, but that seems a bit far off to make plans? Must be this year?

You could make do with Jake Burns new/ish cd " Drinkin Again " instead of the missed UK gigs

I went to the London gig, Goldblade were also support act to be dissapointment! This is because Blood or Whiskey, one of my favourite bands, were support for all the UK tour dates up until just before they came to London!

Actually, it turned out that one of their members died jsut after they came off the road... so they wouldn't have made it anyway I guess :(

Goldblade were pretty crap IMO, one or two good songs but generally justa load of noise. Good crowd communication though.

Stiff Little Fingers on tour with the Tossers!Golblade BOW

Post Thu Apr 27, 2006 11:55 pm

Only the March 16 -22 dates had Blood Or Whiskey as support .
March 23-April 1st dates had Goldblade.
I went to M/chester , Preston & Leeds

Alan Confrey ( Blood Or Whiskey ) R.I.P.
The night I went to see SLF @ M/chester .Found out the sad news that Blood Or Whiskey band member Alan Confrey has died of a heart attack.

from Blood Or Whiskey ie
""
*** 25th March, 2006 ***
Just to let everyone know that, tragically our friend and fellow band member, Alan Confrey died on Thursday night of a heart attack at the young age of 33.We had just arrived home that day from the SLF tour so, it's a consolation that he died at home. Anyone who knew Alan , knew that whatever he did , it was always at 100%.We love you brother. Messages of support etc.
can be left at our my space.
Blood or Whiskey, Kildare & Dublin.""

Thoughts & prays go out to his family /friends

Excellent. I got my ticket today. Haven't seen SLF in a few years.
I like Goldblade, but I can understand why anyone wouldn't. You kinda have to know their songs not to think they're a bunch of noise. I like the rowdy punk rock.
They just left LA a few months ago.

Who exactly was Alan? I read he was on vocals, but I thought that was the Barney guy?

Who sings on The Mero and pretty much all of their songs?

There have been a few band members who have left BOW . Check the above link for more details of the early days.I think Barney Murray left the band after 2nd cd due to illness/pneumonia. He does play Bouzouki and lead vocals on BOW first self titled cd on Sound records and " No time To Explain " cd on Reprieve /Eire Records

Alan Confrey (R.I.P.) is on Cashed Out On Culture cd vocals & tin whistle

Check the links for some Goldblade mp3s/info.John Robb the lead singer looks really well for a 40 something and puts plenty of effort into the live sets, as he did with The Membranes.Judgeing by the reaction from the audiences at SLF gigs and at the Easter Punk Feast (gigs with Uk Subs, Glen Matlock & Redlight Rippers) they do have a lot of fans.
