Shane and The Popes are playing in Bergen on May 4th 2005. Any Norwegians going? This would be a great opportunity for fans in Norway to have one hell of a party.

Cheers

What?! Is this for real?! That would even make me go to Bergen for the first time in my life (even though I am a tad afraid of the locals).

Øyvind, do you live there? Is it possible to crash at your place, then? Don't have much money, but would love to be able to see Shane and the Popes...

Edit: shit, just saw that you live somewhere quite else. Know anyone else round those parts of Norway that might be willing to let a Pogues fan from Østlandet stay for a nite?

I am not living in Bergen. But I will be going to Bergen. I am thinking about getting a hotel room. Should be great. We should have a party before the gig.

That shouldn't be too hard in Bergen. There should be some youth hostels there.

http://www.hotell.no/index.jsp?frame=ho ... el_id=1276

Single room price from 450 to 625

Personally I will be staying at a Grand hotell Terminus due to a 50% discount I get since I work in the same chain of hotels.

Jeeeesus, I had forgotten how expensive Gamlelandet is! 320 kr for a concert ticket

The thing is, I don't really want to order a ticket, a flight back from Bergen and a hotel room - only to find out in March that the gig isn't going to happen after all... *sighs* What to do...?

It's 520KM from Oslo to Bergen. You can get a Railroad or Bus ticket pretty cheap.

I don't think that you'd have to ask them twice... It's prolly more a case of talking to the venue.

Jupp, there is. Røkeriet.

Click on the Shane link and there's another link to someone else who is apparently presenting the thing. Might be the one to annoy :)

There are some really nice rumours out now about the warmup-band. Cross yer fingers and watch this space for more info :)

I am just very relieved to hear more about the gig, as I am still a bit worried that it mightnot take place. But I will set out for Bergen. If it's called off I'll busk around in Bergen until I get enough money to get leglessly drunken ;)
