Brian Roebuck

About two months ago I was looking though my Dad's old (I mean very Old) CD collection and I cam across a CD that belonged to my late uncle who was an English man, although he was as Irish an English man I've ever known. Anyways, I came across this CD called 'Irish Rebel Songs' by a man called Brian Roebuck, I reconised some songs from various Pogues & Shane MacGowan covers. He's sounds very simular to Luke Kelly, the music is very folk/trad very Dubliners sounding and I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of him?

I know, and I found his tribute to Luke incredibly touching. Some fine balladeering this man does. And as fer Luke, his like will never be seen again. Cuimnigh ar na marbh.

Ya I ment Roebuck is good but not as good, Kelly had such a sweet breezy voice.

I knew what you meant in the first place, a chara. It would be hard for ANYONE to hold a candle to Luke Kelly. He's one of the giants whose shoulders we wee pixies stand on...

Jesus! I was only about 21 years old when I started to see CDs come out. How old is VERY OLD? I'm still young at heart!

Ahh, yes the ginormous ginger 'Gaelfro' hairdo, love him. And don't forget the size of his nostrils... a Mullingar heifer could hide in each one.... and those sparkly eyes that pierced yer soul with a roguish pre-poguish wit. Sadly missed.
