When did Shane rejoin The Pogues?

Post Mon Mar 20, 2006 6:12 pm

i knew he was booted out sometime after hell's ditch
simply because he doesnt sing on waiting for herb and he does on hell's ditch

but recently i've heard things about him touring with them again
or maybe even recording with them again?

it's very tricky to find reliable info here where im from
and i imagine you all probably know

Shane... Shane? The banjo-whistling accordion-player? Aah, I dunno.

You could check out http://www.pogues.com, maybe there's something there ;)

Oh come on Benno, have a chuckle, eh? :)

It WAS funny to read yer post after all the fuss over the East Coast Tour. Nice to meet you. Far as I know, and I'm ignorant (see below), the Pogues rejoined Shane, and vice-versa back in 2000-2001 for a Christmas reunion, and then each Chrissy afterwards. I'm probably badly out of the loop on this one.

:) But no-one means any harm, so relax. Except around G.W.Bush. And Cheney. Never go grouse-shooting with that one.....

my experience with the pogues has been this:
moved to a new house
new neighbour lent me rum sodomy
fucking loved it
then i got "if i should fall..."
loved that as well
only realized hell's ditch existed about last month
it was alright
then i saw waiting for herb and bought it
and shane wasnt there
so i wondered
came here and there was shane again
so you see how it goes

Cool, so yer a pretty new-ish fan, then. Fair play to you. If you look around through some of the threads (particularly the Official Music ones) you'll get a better sense of Poguish musical history. Good luck, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Ship of The Damned (a.k.a The Medusa....)

Christmas 2001 (first reunion): UK + Dublin
Summer 2002: 2 shows (London & Dublin)
Christmas 2004: UK + Dublin
Summer 2005: 2 Festivals (UK and Spain) + Japan tour
Christmas 2005: UK + Dublin
Spring 2006: USA East Coast

did I miss anything?

Shane also appeared occasionally with The Pogues in various concerts between 1992 and the break up. He appeared with them round about the time James and Terry quit (one of the English music weeklies suggested that this was a factor in their decision to quit) and also, I read somewhere, in their farewell concert.
