Shane or not, just looking at the words "Folk-Metal" makes me feel a bit poorly. i'm all for cross-pollination in music, but like "Jazz-Rock", there are some things i just dont need (or want) to hear.

Is "Hocus Pocus" folk-metal? because if it is it should be illegal.

I quite like Shane's part on "Ride On", but I thought the last 90 seconds or so was absolutely awful. :?

How many songs has Shane recorded with them?
Up till now I'd just heard Ride On (which is great, until it goes all Satan on you) but I just came across a neat version of Spancil Hill which I was pleased about since I'd only heard Shane's recording with Christy Moore, and this one has the extra verses. I'll upload it if anyone wants?

He guests on the two songs you mentioned - and is also listed as the producer of the whole Folk Lore album on which the tracks appear.

I liked Shane's part so much and hated the last 90 seconds so much that I edited the song on my computer so that it fades out when Shane's part ends. :?

Exactly what I did with the song. :) But (blasphemy, I guess) I cannot say that I like Shane's part SO much. He sounds as if he hasn't slept for a week. Still the song is a nice curiosity - until the Cruachan guy joins in. :)

I know you didn't ask me  but Acoustica MP3 Audio Mixer is a good, simple program you can use to cut MP3s and stuff.

Other than that, there are some really advanced programs such as Abode Audigy.

An ancient version of Nero Burning Rom. :) It is sufficient for simple cutting / fading.

Returning to the topic at hand, I also have the Cruachan track and I do like it but it is without a doubt one of the maddest songs I've ever heard. Especially the end bit when it goes all Metallica (it reaaaaaaallllly does).

That girl's got a great voice.

Not sure I could handle the full album though, particularly as the male vocalist sounds like that cock from Lordi, they of the Eurovision Pop Contest.

It's different if nothing else.

The guy from Cruachan has a much better voice than Shane, makes the song a lot more epic
