Shane track on Jools Holland 'Jack of the green' album

Post Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:09 am

Can anyone tell me what the Shane track on the Jools holland 'Jack of the green' album is like? Sometimes there are links where you can listen on Amazon but this album doesn't have one.
Is it worth picking up?
Thanks.

I bought it - its a bit shit to be honest. I gave it away as a birthday present. Shane is hardly on form.

You can listen to a sample of "Just To Be Home With You" here. Nothing special, Shane is hardly in top form and the big-band orchestration doesn't go together with his vocal very well. I guess it's mainly valuable as a "collector's item" for the collection of Shane's collaborations with others.

I hate that one. Sounds hackneyed, orchestration all wrong, and Shane doesn't seem to enjoy singing it either.

I think it's a great song, Shane's vocal ruins it. it could have been great.
