I've seen this show on VHS a few years back and recall the quality being pretty good (for a bootleg). Not seen the DVD, but I imagine it would be pretty similar. I think it is a made for TV recording. The show itself is great too. If you're a fan and not overly fussy about the quality of the recording you could do worse than pick up a copy.

I've got it on VHS. It's a TV broadcast and the quality is good. I agree about the song Japan- it's really good. I wonder if they ever recorded a studio version because it's so different to most of their stuff and would be a great addition to the box set.

I love this DVD , its a brilliant show.Shane is in cracking form very pro active with the audience , just like he was in days gone by.Spider sits on a stool all the show through being on crutches he also looks like hes got a severe dose of the shakes.
Theres an awesome rendition of Yeah,Yeah,Yeah,Yeah,Yeah and when Shane changes the words from Brendan Behan danced down the street to falls down the street on Thousands the look of non amusement on Mr Chevrons face is brilliant.
When exactly did Philip begin singing his own song on stage ? Was it the first reunion tour ? Also is there an acoustic version of the song anywhere because the little snippet during the Completely Pogued docu sounds superb done like that.
If anybody gets a chance of getting hold of a copy , grab it , you wont regret it.

Not long after Mac came to feel he could improve the lyrics by having Mr Behan (an excellent dancer, by the way) "fall", "spew" or generally behave in a disreputable manner "up and down the street", in fact.

Did I ever tell you I was barred from McDaids? Not even Brendan managed that.

I don't remember. I only know I'm barred. But since I won't cross the threshold of any premises where smoking tobacco is not considered an agreeable, sociable and congenial past-time, that's all academic anyway.

I never understood why you did not sing it on the album.
