Shane's vocal abilities these days seem to have little to do with his lack of teeth and everything to do with what shape he is in on the particular day (as well as how much of an effort he wants to make, of course). There is this dreadful recording of The Town I Loved So Well with Lancaster County Prison in which Shane's vocals are so utterly horrible they make you wish he'll never record another song. But then again, on the recent Fairytale Of New York with Katie Melua he sounds fine. His vocal abilities has always had it's ups and downs I guess, only these days the downs are, honestly, really bad.

Whether or not he is capable of making another album is anybody's guess and I see no point in speculating. Time will tell.

You seem quite confident that they are going to make a new album

They will and I still want my album with a mix of new material, nice covers (songs that the band like and want to record) and some traditional stuff.
That would be cool 8)

And the biggest probleme with Shane's voice is his problems with his teeths :(
Then they'll take you to Cloughprior and shove you in the ground. But you'll stick your head back out and shout "We'll have another round"

Looks like someone is changing his tune? Not so hot for the "cover album" are we, celticjunk???!!!     It now looks like you are asking for a traditional and proper Pogues album, and that I will gladly get behind. But on the teeth issue... I'm not so sure. If I were losing my hair in a major way, I would just let it go and possibly shave it. If for some reason my teeth were rotting out of my head for years and now gone, I think I would have consulted a dentist by now, and it seems to me that if I were a singer I would have done something about it by now. Maybe Shane's gums just will not support teeth. Has there been a thread on this? certainly there must be a dentist amongst us Medusans???? :?

A really enterprising dentist would volunteer for the post and never send in a bill. If he created a genuine transformation and was committed to lifelong maintenance, he would become the most famous dentist in the world.

Yes, he'd have the fame. But of course no money would be made from it, because he'd never have time for any other patients.

A doublealbum of course
One CD with covers the band want to record and the second CD you will find a mix of new material and some lovely traditional stuff

I don't think his voice has ever been consisntently good, it's like bob dylan sometimes you hear him live and think what the fuck even from the early days, and you can hear them recently and although their voices are a bit more lived in you still think it sounds like the first time you heard them

Do you have a cousin in Chicago?
