Got my attention from a review that talked about it as a window into old New York. I like Blondie sure but not exactly a fan, didn't really know much about them, and was interested to learn about how deep into art they really were, including the Warhol scene. A good read, if harrowing in some parts, although the blows are softened some by his rather flat, Burroughs-esque reporting style (WSB being a friend as well).
An older sibling was a Blondie fan and I have the entirety of Parallel Lines stuck in the recess of my brain. They also listened to a Stray Cats album too fucking much.
Mr. Stein's facebook stories are crazy active with a lot of his NYC photography, etc.
I think I first noticed his 9/11 photographs.
I was on a break at work and only found out about Mr. MacGowan's death because Mr. Stein posted a tribute portrait.
Should get this book for said sibling who does the whole 100+ books per year dealio.
