Great film! Brian Wilson's struggle has inspired some great art, including "Love & Mercy", "Whale Music" (book and film), and the Barenaked Ladies song "Brian Wilson", to name just three.

Indiana doesn't want him anymore - Toronto-born Motown singer/songwriter R.D. Taylor dead at 82, a year after contracting COVID-19. Before making the charts with "Indiana Wants Me", Taylor built his name behind the scenes as a songwriter, co-writing the smash “Love Child” for the Supremes, “All I Need” for the Temptations and “I’ll Turn to Stone,” recorded by the Four Tops. Northern Soul fans probably know his song "There's a Ghost In My House".

I'm actually really sad about Louis Anderson. Did anybody else watch "Baskets"?



If you had told me in 1990 that, in 30 years, Louie Anderson was gonna play in drag as an aging suburban housewife, a role in which he channelled his own mother, gaining insight into her life and turning that a moving portrayal, I woulda laughed you off. But here we are and that's one of my favourite roles in one of the best shows of all time for me. I was really looking forward to what he might do next.

No, but we watched Life with Louie back in the day and it was great.



I followed him on social media (fb I think) and he posted a lot about missing his late, younger brother. I seem to recall that Life with Louie is still popular in Romania or somewhere like that. Really popular.

Always meant to go see him or George Wallace in Las Vegas. I feel like Anderson last played a downtown casino though.

When I lived downtown we had those corner deli/markets where you find the most random stuff. I remember one having an at least 6 years expired can of Life with Louie “pasta” for sale. To each their own.

I was at college around the time the Bat Out Of Hell album was released. The bloke who lived up the corridor from me in the student accommodation had a copy of it, which he played repeatedly, as loud as his tinny little record player could go. I must've heard it so many times that I still know the whole of the album pretty well. And there were a fair few late-night singalongs. Alcohol may have been involved.

FH i had the same experience as you.. except it was his comeback hit, "I would do anything for love (but i won't do that)". He had a good run.
