On learning that the adolescent in charge has finally been permanently punished by Twitter.

Kellyanne Conway draws the line at Trump directing his very special loved ones to kill Capitol Police and the attempt to murder Senators, Speaker Pelosi and the Vice President by the same (primarily) white male offal that have been her bread and butter all these years?

What a freaking revelation.

So Trump derangement syndrome isn’t a thing anymore, Kellyanne?

Got it.

Inside the Senate’s secure location, one senior officer ordered a set of underlings to go secure Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), a double amputee who lost both legs while serving in the Iraq War. A recipient of the Army Commendation Medal for her service flying Black Hawks, she hid in her office three floors above, unwilling to [let] any strangers in. The senior officer gave specific instructions of what to yell: “Senator Duckworth, Senator Klobuchar said come to the door.”

-Washington Post

So much for law and order, military veterans and supporting police.

But everyone knew that was bullshit from day one. It’s always been about bigotry, racism and the false narrative that stupid, white American men and woman have lost some imaginary freedoms to people of color. That their failure is connected to the success of minority Americans who have surpassed them in life. That any politically prominent woman smarter than a stupid white man is somehow a multi-murderering, bathroom using antichrist. Their personal, professional and cognitive failures are everybody else’s fault.

Bringing selfie sticks to an attack on Government and its process really makes it seem that the terrorists are more motivated by social media attention...

Oh yeah.

Stupid white people bemoaning the fact that they’re not allowed to yell “Trump 2020” while police are coming for Capitol terrorism suspects. See, in the airport things are taken very seriously due to, umm... terrorism. Gleefully aligning yourself with cop killers and then whining about the repercussions is so MAGA.

They actually think they can disrupt flights into DC, attack the Capitol and fly home undisturbed on their lily white asses?

FLOTUS says what?

I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me – from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda. This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain.

She didn’t plagiarize this.

Nobody with a functioning brain around to edit it either, for if “this time is solely about healing our country...” one would think shutting the fuck up about your own petty grievances would be in order.

But, nah.

Rep. Matt Gaetz
@RepMattGaetz

President Trump is not resigning, and he is not leaving the public stage at all.

Donald J. Trump remains the inspirational leader of a loving and patriotic movement of people who believe America's best days can still be ahead.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Post Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:36 pm

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day tomorrow.

The last time I was in DC I woke up really early and walked over to the (Obama tenure) White House in flip flops and a light sweater thinking I’d pick up a bagel or something and head back to get dressed properly. It began to drizzle and then a freaking typhoon rolled in.

I said, fuck it, and went to the Lincoln Memorial and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial with absolutely nobody else around besides one security guard at the Lincoln Memorial.

The MLK Jr. Memorial is stunning.

Re-reading this thread today for kicks.

DzM wrote:I feel I should point our that our maple-syrup stained neighbors to the north aren't above reproach here. Mr. Trump is all about "And I'LL greenlight the Keystone XL pipeline." The company that can't WAIT to offer him blumpy in return? TransCanada based out of Alberta.

I can't tell you how happy I am to see this cancelled. Americans won't know Jason Kenny, the Premier (think 'governor') of the conservative, tar-sand selling province of Alberta (think 'Texas'). He is not popular with anyone outside of Alberta except the ultra-right. He has put all his bets on - and invested all Alberta's economic future - in the tar sands. He is freaking out now, even though Biden is just doing what he said clearly he'd do, and it was at best 50/50 how the election was going to go, so it was a very irresponsible policy of his.

Meanwhile, Biden's first call will be to our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, who swept into power on a promise of (among other things) respect for First Nations. Justin is expected to lobby for that pipeline, no matter how many American Indigenous groups are fighting with their lives to stop it.

Suddenly, I'm a Biden fan! :D
