What Song are you listening to?

A place to discuss largely non-Pogues related things.

I guess recent news has stuck this one in my head...

The Battle Is Over (But The War Goes On)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoMUqWqyTzQ

Levon was playing this with The Band back in the mid-1980s, and they demoed it in '85 and again in '90 or '91 but his first actual release of it was post-cancer & voice recovery, on The Midnight Ramble Sessions Vol. 2 in 2005. I think if all music in this world was this good and played with this much soul all the world's problems would vanish.

Song: Stars & Fishes
Artist: Fous de la mer

Should be the background noise in the lobby of a "W" hotel. It's pleasant, non-offensive ambient downtempo.

Hate, hate that band so much.

And, apparently they h-ate each other. Shocking.

Though largely gracious and happy-go-lucky in tone, Remain in Love doesn’t shy away from airing Byrne’s dirty laundry (literally, in one difficult-to-believe anecdote). It’s a CBGB version, perhaps, of Levon Helm’s beef with Robbie Robertson, a parallel story of a drummer’s personality and grooves absorbed into the work of a seemingly lone songwriter.

They should play the Talking Heads during root canals because that’s what it feels like when you hear it.

But, hey... that’s just me.
Tom Tom Club I actually like. :?

Al Green’s Belle Is one of the funniest songs ever. Love it.
