Paul English, Willie Nelson's long-serving drummer, best friend, and cape-wearing gun-toting road manager (he handled the cash), has died at age of 87. Rolling Stone has done a nice write up:

I’m usually the last to know these things, so I figure this hasn’t been mentioned because it’s already been mentioned everywhere else, but yeah Kobe Bryant who was 41 and his 13-year-old daughter Gigi died on Sunday in a helicopter crash, along with 7 others...

P.S. Okay it suddenly really disturbed me that I posted this because not only was there already nonstop over-the-top Kobe worship everywhere you turned, but I know I've most definitely always thought he was an arrogant ballhog. That could mean that possession is real, folks.

I just found out that Kehinde Lijadu, half of the Nigerian twin sister singing duo Lijadu Sisters, died on November 9, 2019 at age 71.



I'm glad she got out of this place and I hope we all get to see her and her sister singing again in the afterlife.

Ginger Baker, 80. Probably older than he had any business being. From the CBC obit:

Baker wielded his blues power and jazz technique to help break open popular music and become one of the world's most admired and feared musicians.

Feared indeed! If you've not seen the film "Beware Mr. Baker", now's a good time.

Heard a clip of an old promoter saying that Ginger's rider included "a case of beer, two black hookers and a white limo"

I know he had some wild times in the 60's, but that's probably just a stupid racist tall tale from someone he punched who probably saw his photo between the Nigerian Lijadu sisters and wanted to insult all three of them in one go. An old promoter from his younger days seems an even more likely target for his cranky temper than the filmmaker he hit with his cane at 73.
