We live 10 minutes walk away from the club, but we're going to have to get a taxi there and back because of this.

Hi Heather, where they any good?

I had already booked to go and see Ian Prowse on the same night so couldnt go.

Hi Rich, I wouldn't normally go to see copy bands, but I've been to see them three times now, once at The Water Rats in London, and twice at Liverpool Irish Centre, and they are really good, and they do sound very similar to The Pogues.

I would fully recommend that you go and see them if they come to Liverpool again, which I suspect they will as I know that they've really loved playing the Irish Centre both times that they have been there.

Madness and English Beat in NYC. Great to have an excuse to travel there again!

Kanye West is raising the dead on Sunday in Pigeon Forge, don’t know why I got that email, but hey...

I think I would like Pigeon Forge. That service thing, no.

The video of Kanye stating that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” is one of the top five greatest things on YouTube. Chris Tucker and Mike Myers.

The TMZ debacle, uh... not so much.

Not making fun of mental illness, that telethon clip is amazing.

Yeah actually watched that live, Myers awkwardly continuing to read the teleprompter then back to Kanye for the closer, and Myers a total deer in headlights. THAT was the magic of live TV folks!

Read an interview with Myers where he said he didn't disagree with what West said but realized what a truth bomb was dropped and was dumbfounded (to the point of potato).Whatever West has become, that was fucking heroic.

I saw it live too. They cut to Chris Tucker so fast.

Everybody was watching bodies floating around New Orleans, people being driven back from help with guns and Kanye West let W know. The fact that he considers that the worst moment of his Presidency is crazy. The people dying in New Orleans and NYC should've been his worst, not a performer pointing out his incompetence.

Weren't Springsteen and Neil Young on that telethon? West said he walked out thinking his career was over. But you can't stop crazy.

Having W say you're the worst thing about his Presidency and Obama calling you a jackass on national television is pretty damn funny.

We were lucky to see the sold-out first night of Sinéad O'Connor's first North American tour in 6 years, last night at the Vogue Theatre here in Vancouver.

I was remembering how blown away I was as a teenager the first time i heard the epic 6 1/2 minute 'Troy', off her first album. I was just overwhelmed by the passion & intensity in her singing. Last night I was blown away by how she could deliver that same passion and intensity in a single word (the "please" in 'Black Boys On Mopeds'). She continues to be one of the greatest singers of our time. And it was nice to see her looking happy and apparently having a good time.

Was annoyed at everyone who felt they needed to whoop at the end of every line of her powerful sean-nós performance of 'I Am Stretched On Your Grave', though. They finally gave up halfway and just let her sing the damn thing.

The Rolling Stones, I guess. :)

Passed on them a few times due to two tickets averaging $750 or some shit.
I’ve only seen them twice, once when G’N’R opened for them at the LA Coliseum (and Axl fell off the stage) and once with almost everyone in my extended family at an old stadium. Passed on a free ticket because it was raining once and I had jet lag.

Good thing is you don’t really need close-up seats. Tell me the cheap seats are below $375, FFS.

Yeah these big shows are just SO expensive. I was considering this but i'm going to see Corb Lund & the Hurtin' Albertans and then Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit and both sets of tickets togther cost me less than a mid-range set of Stones tickets (though not much) and will be in nice theaters not stadiums.

I was lucky enough to see Keith Richards And The X-Pensive Winos in the early 90s at the lovely Massey Hall in Toronto, so that sorta counts as the stones, right?

I had that Richards solo album. It was good.

I want to see the Stones in as stadium. An ex in-law’s friend happens to bartend at a small venue that some chump paid them 2.5 million to play for his wife’s birthday. A picture was forwarded that would make you glad you kept that $500+++ in your pocket. This one I found online is strikingly similar.

Looking rough.

Here's Rufus Wainwright at the same venue describing the place.
That was an amazing show and thank Christ for phones circa 2007.

Well, my concerts are all postponed.

Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit just bumped the show from July (next month) to July... 2021! But he sweetened the deal by adding Lucinda Williams to the bill! I'm a bit shocked to think of her as an opening act, but i'll take it.

Also in July i was to see Corb Lund & the Hurtin' Albertans, which is now bumped to Nov, but i suspect may be moved again.

Martin Barre, Clive Bunker, Dee Palmer (all classic members of Jethro Tull) & band bumped from this past May to this coming Nov and bumped again to Sep 2021. Hope the old fellers are still alive to do the tour!

Author David Sedaris bumped from May to Sep and now to next May.

More tickets than i've had to anything in 2 seasons in YEARS and i'm not a-getting anything. Oh well. The perils of living in a stable democracy who's current government is listening to health officials and basing their policies mostly on science, I suppose i've not much to complain about.

I love him. Had a ticket to see him in Santa Cruz and can't remember what got in the way of attending. He always seems to be in town when I'm traveling.

Saw Santaland Diaries (in the round) back in the day, amazing.

Got to see Amy Sedaris guest on Late Show with David Letterman with a younger family member courtesy of Mr. Letterman's assistant/mistress. I was in Philadelphia and NYC for the Pogues and had sent a book over to the show. She called to hook me up with tickets but I was leaving via DC because there was a big ass storm and my budget couldn't afford getting stuck in NYC too long. She said to call anytime in the future, which we did.

Got the VIP treatment and slightly impressed the little. Very slightly.

We love his former mistress/assistant. :)

I added the last two as a stream of conciousness dealio.

Now, fat Jack... whatever his name is... was at Disneyland's Matterhorn ride back in the 90's the exact same time as myself (when he was making money still, before the fire in Rhode Island).

He had a whore pose in line eating a banana. I am not making that up.

He appears to be a complete fucking idiot.

I was not the whore. I’m more of a bitch.
