Two Irish rebel songs.
The first is Slievenamon by the Wolfe Tones, the poem by 19th century Irish revolutionary Charles Kickham set to music. It has to be the only love song ever made where the guy wishes that his girl would return to lead an uprising for his homeland. Those Irish rebels sure do expect a lot from their women.

Alone, all alone by the wave-washed strand
And alone in a crowded hall
The hall it is gay and the waves they are grand
But my heart is not here at all
It lies far away by night and by day
To the times and the joys that are gone
But I never will forget the sweet maiden I met
In the valley near Slievenamon

Oh it was not the grace of her queenly air
Nor her cheek of the roses' glow
Nor her soft black eyes nor her flowing hair
Nor was it her lily white brow
'Twas the soul of truth and of melting ruth
And the smile like a summer's dawn
That stole my heart away one soft summer's day
In the valley near Slievenamon.

In the festive hall by the star watched shore
Oh ever my restless spirit cries
My love oh my love will I ne'er see you more
And my land will you never uprise
By night and by day I ever ever pray
While lonely my life flows on
To see our flag unrolled
And my true love to enfold
In the valley near Slievenamon.

The second is Óró, Sé Do Bheatha Abhaile. I know the Dubliners version that was written by Padraig Pearse.

In Irish:
---------
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh.

'Sé do bheatha, a bhean ba léanmhar,
Do b' é ár gcreach tú bheith i ngéibheann,
Do dhúiche bhreá i seilbh méirleach,
Is tú díolta leis na Gallaibh.

Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh.

Tá Gráinne Mhaol ag go duill ar sáile,
Óglaigh armtha léi mar gharda,
Gaeil iad féin is ní Gaill ná Spáinnigh,
Is cuirfidh siad ruaig ar Ghallaibh.

Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh.

A bhuí le Rí na bhFeart go bhfeiceam,
Mura mbeam beo ina dhiaidh ach seachtain,
Gráinne Mhaol agus míle gaiscíoch,
Ag fógairt fáin ar Ghallaibh.

Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile,
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh.

English translation:
------------------------
Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Now that summer's coming!

Hail, oh woman, who was so afflicted,
It was our ruin that you were in chains,
Our fine land in the possession of thieves...
While you were sold to the foreigners!

Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Now that summer's coming!

Grace O'Malley is coming over the sea,
Armed warriors as her guard,
Only Gaels are they, not French nor Spanish
and they will rout the foreigners!

Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Now that summer's coming!

May it please the King of Prodigy that we might see,
Although we may live but one week after,
Gráinne Mhaol and a thousand warriors...
Dispersing the foreigners!

Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Oh-ro, welcome home
Now that summer's coming!

I noticed that this thread somehow changed from the Great Lyrics Thread to the Good Lyrics Thread, so it seems okay now to add two songs with lyrics that aren't exactly my cup of tea, but they're at least both interesting and mysterious lyrics with someone talking to a dead person as if they were alive.

The first is Signs by Bloc Party

Two ravens in the old oak tree, one for you and one for me
Bluebells in the late December, I see signs now all the time
The last time we slept together, there was something that was not there
You never wanted to alarm me but I'm the one that's drowning now

I could sleep forever these days because in my dreams I see you again
But this time fleshed out fuller face in your confirmation dress
It was so like you to visit me to let me know you were OK
It was so like you to visit me, always worrying about someone else

At your funeral I was so upset, so upset
In your life you were larger than this
Statuesque

I see signs now all the time that you're not dead, you're sleeping
I believe in anything that brings you back home to me

The second is So In Love With You by Spear of Destiny.

All those nights when you can't hold on
Needing someone there, someone
Shooting star you'd half a life
That's why you burnt so bright
Now you don't need anyone

As a kid you lived the dream
Fitted right inside its scheme
Through a thousand love affairs
They still deny that they cared
You're gone because they got scared
I'm so in love with you

Did your world collapse one day
Nothing left to give away
Spending hours on the phone
Don't hang up I'm on my own
I can't face it when you go
I'm so in love with you

There's an ambulance outside
Reporters hang around like flies
Waiting for a photograph
When you died you weren't alone
I guess the truth will never be known
I'm so in love with you

And one that I do love. Casper the Friendly Ghost by Daniel Johnston

He was smiling through his own personal hell
Dropped his last dime in a wishing well
But he was hoping too close and then he fell
Now he's Casper the Friendly Ghost

He was always polite to the people who'd tell him
That he was nothing but a lazy bum, but
Goodbye to them, he had to go
Now he's Casper the Friendly Ghost

Nobody treated him nice while he was alive
You can't buy no respect like the librarian said, but
Everybody respects the dead, they
Love the friendly ghost

And now they say we'll never forget what he learned us
We were mean to him but he never burned us
Just singing, "love lives forever!"
Thank you, Casper the Friendly Ghost
Thank you, Casper the Friendly Ghost

Another favorite, one of my absolute favorites. The claustrophobic The Fire by Television.

Storms all that summer we lived in the wind, out in some room in the wind
Your hands they were folded, you knew no demands
My tongue it clattered like tin
My eyes repeat and take my seat
Your eyes they say you resigned from the heat
We leaned in the cold, holding our breath, watching the corners turn corners
Coins on the table, the cards in the air, the face at the window kept smiling

Storms all that winter we stayed locked away
Waiting, watching, falling
End of the street, horizon retreats
You ran with it, I wish I could sleep
Is not sleep, my eyes repeat
You take the voltage that watches you weep
You caught the voice, I listen close
All that I heard was the echoes
Praise emptiness
Her rose-colored dress
Her circling motions
Praise emptiness

Everything scattered, nothing was missed
We took our house in the fire

Most of the time I prefer the moody cryptic lyrics of early R.E.M., but this is definitely a fun one.

It's the End of the World As We Know It
--------------------------------------------------
That's great, it starts with an earthquake
Birds and snakes, an aeroplane
Lenny Bruce is not afraid

Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn
World serves its own needs,
Don't mis-serve your own needs
Speed it up a notch, speed, grunt, no, strength
The ladder starts to clatter
With a fear, fight, down, height
Wire in a fire, represent the seven games
In a government for hire and a combat site
Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry
With the Furies breathing down your neck

Team by team, reporters baffled, trumped, tethered, cropped
Look at that low plane, fine, then
Uh oh, overflow, population, common group
But it'll do, save yourself, serve yourself
World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed
Tell me with the Rapture and the revenant the right, right
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam fight, bright light
Feeling pretty psyched

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

Six o'clock, T.V. hour, don't get caught in foreign tower
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn
Lock him in uniform, book burning, bloodletting
Every motive escalate, automotive incinerate
Light a candle, light a motive, step down, step down
Watch your heel crush, crush, uh oh
This means no fear, cavalier, renegade, steer clear
A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
And I decline

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)
I feel fine (I feel fine)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide
Mountains sit in a line
Leonard Bernstein, Leonid Brezhnev
Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs
Birthday party, cheesecake, jellybean, boom
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam but neck, right? right

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

Someone explained that the grindcore song below is about "getting high off the smell of decomposing bodies and subsequently being addicted to it." I thought that was a perfect metaphor to describe the war addiction of the asshole warmongers of the world.

Reek of Putrefaction by Carcass
---------------------------
Snorting the stench of latent effluvium
And maturing damp fumes
This foul menage forces tears to your eyes
As the corpse's gas are exhumed....
Intoxicated by foul body odours
And the nauseating tepid whiff
Pinching your nostrils as you irrigate flatus
From the emaciated stiff...

Volatile entrails fume and steam
As they're meticulously hacked during discission
Evaporating sludge and bubbling pus -
A rotten gaseous expiration...

Maturating corpse, the stale smell of decay and rot
- A sickening asphyxiation
Gross remains gush, innards turn to sludge
- With partial liquefaction...

Smell the rot...
Of the corrupted corpse....
Hallucinogenic trip...

Tissue gases leak - a warm, unpleasant reek
A quite macabre addiction
Deteriorated, bloated corpse - decomposure burning hot
Sniff the smell of carrion...

Inhaling the dank smells
As you gouge out the dripping innards with glee
Succumbling to a translucid state
As you sniff the aroma of necropsy...
Bacterial decomposition
The aroma of fungal/larval infestation
Consuming, ripening slime
As the cadaver is slowly wasting...

Your sore sinews rot, blood curdling coughs
As acrid foetor corrodes your lungs
Body orifices clenched in your teeth
As you frenziedly try to insert the bungs...

Swollen, ripened corpse, the stench of crusting clots
- The smell of stale perspiration
Administering watery gore, you're screaming out for more
- Addicted to putrefaction....

Snort the corpse...
Get high on the rot...
Orgasmic rush...
Turns your brains to pus...

And I love these lyrics for Sharpened Sticks by A Witness, the kind that I don't exactly understand but I still somehow do.

The sharp ends of the stick
I know something of your past
A woman showed the whites of her eyes
These are the waves where you're pushed about
These are the waves where you're pushed about
And...

A guy was leaving, he couldn't get his coat on
He had the loudest phone in the world
When it rang this is all you could hear
Deh-deh-deh-deh-deh Deh-deh-deh-deh-deh
Deh-deh-deh-deh-deh Deh-deh-deh-deh-deh

A dream in an egg
Or words to that effect
Some questions answered
Some questions answered oh yeah

They never spared the rod for us, no
They never spared the rod for us
That's life, that's lies
That's life, that's lies

You knew the reasons would be hidden
You knew the reasons would be hidden

Answers are useless dogs
Answers are useless dogs

Gone battle in sewer
Car parked on manhole cover
When you're treated like the water
When you're treated like the water
Like the water, like the water
Like the water

Third rate in business terms
Spraying millefiori ribbon
It's not dark enough, it's not large enough
It's not dark enough, it's not large enough

The bulge in my shirts, and the pledge in my ear
The sun in my eyes
The man can die sometimes
The sun in my eyes
The man can die
Sometimes

I was ruined too much, so unable to rise
Ruined too much, so unable to rise
Rise rise
Rise rise
Rise rise
Rise rise

The sharp ends of the stick
The sharp ends of the stick
The sharp ends of the stick!

I was happy to find out about this one here, about a couple of oddball kids who tend to cause whirlwinds in their wake. It made me think of the tv show Dollhouse because the girl seems to be a victim of mind control programming at the start: "She’s a container, fill her to the brim/Take out her will, put yours in /Ascribe and assign what’s on her mind." But luckily it's implied that she unexpectedly managed to break free from the mind control since they later call her a curveball.

Twister by Marry Waterson & Emily Barker
----------
She’s a container, fill her to the brim
Take out her will, put yours in
Ascribe and assign what’s on her mind
Choose to see what you believe

She’s a twister, she’s a twister
and a curveball, she’s a curveball
and one life doesn’t fit us all

He’s a dark horse and a favourite son
from the other side of the pond
For a rare bird and a black swan
still waters still run

He’s a twister, he’s a twister
and an eight ball, he’s an eight ball
and one life doesn’t fit us all

Let’s stay curious, let’s stay strange, let’s stray
Let’s stay curious, let’s stay strange, let’s stray

We’ll be fearless in mutual weirdness
Out to lunch deviants, of unusual ingredients
Normal’s too formal, we’re in withdrawal
Choose to see what you believe

She’s a twister, she’s a twister
and a curveball, she’s a curveball

He’s a twister, he’s a twister
and an eight ball, he’s an eight ball
and one life doesn’t fit us all

I'm generally not too keen on straightforward relationship songs, but this one consoling someone who's been severely traumatized has a rare sincerity about the sad circumstances that gets to me.

All Our Tomorrows by the Trembling Blue Stars
------------------------------
I never want you to feel again
The way you did in your sad stories
I want to take every bad thing
Take it and consign it to history
Let me hold you so close
That all the things that haunt you leave you
Let me repair the damage
The past is gone and cannot touch you
I can't stand the thought
Of you feeling hurt
Having seen
The world at its worst
I want to soothe all sorrows
Chase away every bad memory
Today and all our tomorrows
Matter more than any yesterday
I can't stand the thought
Of you feeling hurt
Having seen
The world at its worst

And that song unexpectedly led me to an interesting one by Bruce Cockburn called All Our Dark Tomorrows that hints at the kind of world that caused the trauma in the earlier song.

The village idiot takes the throne
His the wind in which all must sway
All sane people, die now
Be lifted up and carried away
You've got no home in this world of sorrows

There's a parasite feeding on
Everybody's bag of rage
What goes out returns again
To smite the mouth and burn the page
Under the rain of all our dark tomorrows

I can see in the dark, it's where I used to live
I see excess and the gaping need
Follow the money, see where it leads
It's to shrunken men stuffed up with greed
They meet and make plans in strange half-lit tableaux

Under the rain of all our dark tomorrows

You've got no home in this world of sorrows

And that brings me to the only other Bruce Cockburn song I was familiar with. I can definitely relate to the sentiment and he expresses it better than I could. I'm guessing from the earlier song that he knows who's really responsible for the wars (and I'd expect he has ultra precision aim!).

If I Had a Rocket Launcher
-------------------------
Here comes the helicopter, second time today
Everybody scatters and hopes it goes away
How many kids they've murdered only God can say, hey
If I had a rocket launcher, if I had a rocket launcher
If I had a rocket launcher, I'd make somebody pay

I don't believe in guarded borders and I don't believe in hate
I don't believe in generals or their stinking torture states
And when I talk with the survivors of things too sickening to relate
If I had a rocket launcher, if I had a rocket launcher
If I had a rocket launcher, I would retaliate

On the Rio Lacantun, one hundred thousand wait
To fall down from starvation, or some less humane fate
Cry for Guatemala, with a corpse in every gate
If I had a rocket launcher, if I had a rocket launcher
If I had a rocket launcher, I would not hesitate

I want to raise every voice, at least I've got to try
Every time I think about it water rises to my eyes.
Situation desperate, echoes of the victims cry
If I had a rocket launcher, if I had a rocket launcher
If I had a rocket launcher, some son of a bitch would die

Finally paid attention to the words of MF Doom and RZA's Books of War...

[MF Doom:]
It ain't nuttin like a fistfull a cash or a bliss fulla the hash
That twist like a mustache, from end to end, spread it like a rash
From talking through your walkman or at your disco bash
Gimme the timbs rumplestiltskin brown
A metal face mask with a built in frown
A mic to tilt down, a hundred thousand pounds
And see how kilt sound like spilt milk clown

Cocoa butter on very ashy day fam
With Ray-Bans out on the islands of Cayman
Or I'll break it down for the layman
Ban de Soleil for that Saint Tropez.. tannnn
A can a ole gold too cold to hold, slow ya roll
Keep on moving like Soul II Soul, hold the dough
Like a fool who stole pity y'all
From tryna go up against city hall titty bar

The black mic is like a red violin
Ok, everybody back to the lab, try again
Bloody rap game like leviathan
Leave a bad taste, killin' my high like niacin
Stop kiddin' middlemen need Ritalin
Hit me with the full tin of gin and i'm a kid again

Keep the bong lightin' straight through the song writin'
The Supervillain AKA the thong bitin, that's inviting all
To the recitin' thats dope and raw
Hoping all yall come in peace and its open bar
Tear the roof off this bumba rasclaat
By the end of the night spazz like shazbot
Spilt a shot made the pen lines runny
A ill plot that's ten times Ben Stien money... funny

How he rips the scripts with a straight face
With more rhymes than is lines in ya database
Placing rappers in endangerment, who's reckless
With this food for thought sorta like breakfast
You could mark it off as wreck on the checklist
Wear gold fronts, can't afford no necklace
Shit, that there, could go to help them daycares
Somebody say yeahh.. (yeahhh!)
Pay ya fares,... give the Herbalizers his shares
And y'all could pay DOOM in beers.. Cheers!..

[RZA:]
I came to the shores of America disguised as a pillar
The alpha and omega and the home of the beggars, the black sellers
Who been beaten, raped, lynched, robbed and stoned
And caused to roam the earth in service cause they couldn't maintain at
Home
This dates back to 1555
When they captured the first tribe of men
And piled them in a pen
Fifty feet high
They took em all on a 9000 mile ride
And landed on the shore of a place they never seen before
But read about this inside the ancient books of war
Bonded in stainless steel, stripped of their language
Still survived the anguish of slavery but still remained nameless
Separated to portions and tricked by John Haughty Hawkins
And sold on the auction, taught birth control and abortion
Rulers of the first part became slaves of the worst part
The devils cursed God and reversed God
And turned God into dog and made people search hard
No relief came to the prophet of W.D. Feraud
To a trauma, dropped our mommas off in Bahamas and Barbados
Tobagos, separated us from slave boats
Made our own brothers hate us
From Virgin Isle to Jamaica
Trinidad, Honduras, Haiti, Grenada
Bermuda to Cayman, mental enslavement
You black gods become awaken

And was always amazed by this one.

Free Press and Curl by Shabazz Palaces
------------------------------
Dance machine
In the brown
Juicy lips
Watchin' glow
In the sauce
Ah

I cried with Mooch at Papi's wake
Snuck an extra slice of cake
When the pigs came round to make they case
I looked 'em dead up in they face
I never heard of none of that
Soon's I win, let's run it back
I run on feelings, fuck your facts
Deception is the truest act
With poise I twirl the bluest lack
Dougie hold the ooh-est sacks
I danced a move to play the back
I dipped she asked him "Who was that?"
(I ain't showed off, I just showed up
Greet my peoples, fill they cup
Transmit heat on pillows plush)
I mean it though, I lean and flow
I gleam and glow, I'm clean
And oh you bet ya that I get it bro
Inside the glow just not for show
Three beans, purples, indigo
Catchy yes but trendy no
Never fiend or scheming though
That's beneath Barbara Jean's offspring
With po, I never seem to know

(Gunbeats comprise arsenal)
Up or don't toss it all (Up or don't toss it all)
Up or don't toss it all (Up or don't toss it all)

Yeah up or don't toss it at all
Philosophy is cruelty
Both musically and bitch-wise too
I lost the best beat that I had
Now my heart just smash and dash
War inside I catch a cab
It's boring out I'm to the lab
These robots grant us internets
Program racist sequences
Don't compare my beat with his
He ain't up off these streets, he's slid

Hook]
I'm free, shit you know I'm free, nigga, I'm free
Yeah, you know I'm free, shit, I'm free
To be a slave to all these things I can't escape
Trapped inside imagination tickling at my face
You know I'm free, bitch you know I'm free
Baby girl, I'm free, yeah, you know I'm free
Free to chain my will onto the wings of my instinct
And wander round this box I'm inextricably linked
You know I'm.. free, I'm free, I'm free
Shit you know I'm free, that's right I'm free
To make pursuit to catch the stuff that holds me down
To capture my desires fashion out of this a crown
You know I'm free, shit you know I'm free
Pig, you know I'm free, mind telling these niggas I’m free
I never leave I’m super free
Free to fill my smiles up with these tears that I forgot
And haunt myself besides these pretty ghosts that float my heart
You know I'm free

Thou Shalt...
Bask in the light of my phone screen glow
Thumbs realize everyone I know
Freedom's cold newest episode
Yeah one more smile and we're undertow
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go

Gospels...
Put minds in for a fresher world
Old school hood nigga, press and curl
Eyes like moons when I kiss my girl
Get lucked out, wish I was in Africa
Konjo, Konjo, Konjo, Konjo, Konjo

Two by Blue Orchids about something inevitable about to happen. The Flood and Agents of Change.

The Flood
--------------
Roller coaster mind arrives right on time – hold on
Roll across the clouds, laugh out loud – you’re the one
Symbols crash, atoms smash – and it’s gone
Feel no emotion, one foot in the ocean – here it comes
Here comes the flood

Nail biting time for the mind on the line – hold on
Part of the game is remember your name – you’re the one
True soul, drum roll - and it’s gone
Man of steel, sex appeal – here it comes
Here comes the flood

Gentle sleep washes away tension
The fist looses its grip
And you awake with new life
Refreshed and oppressed

Clouds roll, lightning crash – hold on
Waves rise, chains snap – you’re the one
Symbols crash, atoms smash – and it’s gone
Feel no emotion, one foot in the ocean – here it comes
Here comes the flood

Agents of Change
---------------------
I’ve seen it written on a wall
I’ve seen it on film
I’ve seen it walking down the street
In the flesh
A vibration
I don’t hear it where I should hear it
But I hear it
The naked truth
A beautiful thing
Moving in
Agents of change

Some people say nothing ever changes
I say everything always changes
I say look out keep on your toes
It’s ever-present it knows you well
All I’ve got to do
Is open my arms
And the agents of change
Smile on me
A frightening thing
Wild and pure
Agents of change

Walking down the street
In the flesh
A vibration
I don’t hear it where I should hear it
Oh, but I hear it
The naked truth
Oh wow
Yea yea
Agents of change

All I’ve got to do
Is open my arms
And the agents of change
Smile

Two by Joy Division about comrades in the epic battle against evil, starkly told as only Ian Curtis can.

Heart and Soul
---------------------
Instincts that can still betray us,
A journey that leads to the sun,
Soulless and bent on destruction,
A struggle between right and wrong

You take my place in the showdown,
I'll observe with a pitiful eye,
I'll humbly ask for forgiveness,
A request well beyond you and I

Heart and soul, one will burn
Heart and soul, one will burn

An abyss that laughs at creation,
A circus complete with all fools,
Foundations that lasted the ages,
Then ripped apart at their roots

Beyond all this good is the terror,
The grip of a mercenary hand,
When savagery turns all good reason,
There's no turning back, no last stand

Heart and soul, one will burn
Heart and soul, one will burn

Existence, well what does it matter?
I exist on the best terms I can
The past is now part of my future,
The present is well out of hand
The present is well out of hand

Heart and soul, one will burn
Heart and soul, one will burn
One will burn, one will burn
Heart and soul, one will burn

A Means to an End
--------------------------
A legacy so far removed,
One day will be improved.
Eternal rights we left behind,
We were the better kind.
Two the same, set free too,

I always looked to you,
I always looked to you,
I always looked to you.

We fought for good, stood side by side,
Our friendship never died.
On stranger waves, the lows and highs,
Our vision touched the sky,
Immortalists with points to prove,

I put my trust in you.
I put my trust in you.
I put my trust in you.

A house somewhere on foreign soil,
Where ageless lovers call,
Is this your goal, your final needs,
Where dogs and vultures eat,
Committed still I turn to go.

I put my trust in you.
I put my trust in you.
I put my trust in you.
I put my trust in you.
In you. In you. In you.
Put my trust in you, in you.

And then another Joy Division song about the evil they were battling while traveling time, which sounds like many different versions of the Crusades.

Wilderness
----------
I traveled far and wide through many different times,
What did you see there?
I saw the saints with their toys,
What did you see there?
I saw all knowledge destroyed.
I traveled far and wide through many different times.

I traveled far and wide through prisons of the cross,
What did you see there?
The power and glory of sin,
What did you see there?
The blood of Christ on their skins,
I traveled far and wide through many different times.

I traveled far and wide and unknown martyrs died,
What did you see there?
I saw the one-sided trials,
What did you see there?
I saw the tears as they cried,
They had tears in their eyes,

Tears in their eyes,
Tears in their eyes,
Tears in their eyes.
