Model & actress Anita Pallenberg has died, aged 75.



As well as having children with Keith Richards, she was also the muse who inspired the Rolling Stones songs "Miss Amanda Jones" and "You Got the Silver", and appeared in, er, great films like Barbarella, Candy, Le Berceau de Cristal and Performance.

American folk singer/songwriter Rosalie Sorrels has passed away on June 11 at the age of 83.

I always respected her for how - in a manner quite opposite to many deadbeat musicians who hit the road and abandon their kids and spouses - Rosalie left her spouse and took all 5 kids on the road with her! She is also the person responsible for spreading the songs of Utah Phillips before he started recording.

RIP is an abbreviation of 'rest in peace' or in Latin, 'requiescat in pace'.
In a publication marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the order called on Protestants to stop using the phrase......"

German-born Holocaust denier Ernst Zundel, the largest publisher of German-language hate literature in the 80s and 90s, who ran his press in my home town of Toronto, Canada, has died of a heart attack, aged 78.

As well as being kingpin of a hate publishing empire, he was also something of a kindly grandfather figure to the white supremacist skinhead movement in Canada. Finally deported from Canada in 2005, he spent five years in prison in Germany before retiring to The Black Forest* area of Germany. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

*Specifically, he spent his final years living with his sister in the town he was raised in: "Bad Badwild", in The Black Forest. Which is clearly where all the wolves from the fairy tales come from.

Daisy Sweeney, who taught her brother Oscar Peterson piano, has died at age 97. Born Daisy Elitha Peterson in 1920 in Montreal, she paid her way through a music degree at McGill University and broke racial barriers along the way.

MONTREAL—Daisy Sweeney, the woman credited with being the first teacher of Canadian musical talents like her brother Oscar Peterson and Oliver Jones, has died at the age of 97.

Sylvia Sweeney says her mother’s impact on numerous lives went beyond the musical icons who credit her with their success and Montreal’s black community. “One of her greatest accomplishments: she broke the colour barrier by taking students she’d taught for 25 cents a lesson on Saturdays and took them to preparatorial exams at McGill University, to competitions,” Sweeney said Monday. “She changed the picture of what was possible — not in the minds of those children — but in the minds of those who were adjudicating them.”
