Worst Christmas Song

Post Thu Dec 22, 2016 5:01 pm

There have been many posts extolling the best Christmas songs (of course with FONY being the greatest) but what about the worst? Modern or old, which ones suck.
Bonus points for snarky comments!

A few of mine-

Paul McCartney-Wonderful Christmas (not if you listen to this song).
John Lennon-Happy XMas (War is Over) (it has Yoko Ono on it-'nuff said)
Mariah Carey-All I want for Christmas is You (or actually your money, cause I need it to buy cheap clothes and fake boobs so I can look like a common streetwalker)
George Michael -Last Christmas (he says he gave you his heart, but the way he gets around, more likely a STD)
Band Aid-Do They Know Its Christmas (No they don't care-btw Tonight thank God it’s them instead of you may be one of the worst things ever written!)

I don't agree. Is not supposed to be sarcastic? Reflecting what we all think when we see the news reports.

Anyway, a real stinker is.....

Shane MacGowan's 'Christmas Lullaby'.

It's Christmas time in Palestine,
It's Christmas in Beirut,
They're scraping round for rice,
Not for Tuti Fruits.

What a load of shite.

BAM, that's the one, the worst, right there. There are many bad ones, but this one goes the extra mile by getting hopelessly stuck in one's head after even the briefest listen.

Special mention goes to Fairytale of New York - Ronan Keating / Moya Brennan version.

John Lennon's is a great song! There's only that and Fairytale, all the rest are shit.

That Slade one without a doubt.

Every time I hear Noddy Holder scream 'IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!', I lose the will to live.
