I was not able to log in earlier as well however I was not patient enough to wait for an error message.
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

Well, in general Medusa's undergarments got all wadded up for an hour or so Sunday evening (Pacific time). It's possible you were both affected by this. Or not. Possibly that too.

As always, keep an eye on things and let me know if it persists.

Suggestions for mobile apps (Android)

Post Thu Oct 10, 2013 9:44 pm

Anyone using any third party apps to read the forum on a mobile device? I can access all forum functions on Nexus 7 (4.3) and Sony ZL (4.2.2), but it's the web version of the site, and the fonts can appear tiny, zooming around is tedious. There are several apps available that will read phpbb. Suggestions?

Umm. I use my iPhone quite a lot. I also use the RSS feed ( create_syndication.php ) quite a lot, though it can periodically arbitrarily decide that the last 100 posts are New And Exciting again.

Other than the RSS feed I don't have things configured to make it easy for third party apps to extract post data. If there are apps that perform screen-scraping to extract the post data and present it in a more mobile-friendly way, more power to 'em.

Hi DzM,

Just let you know that when I log in to the raft and click on View New Messages I'm getting a list of posts as long as my arm. As if the viewed messages are not being removed from the list each time I log on. Not a problem really, just an observation.

I never manage to log in on the first attempt. I know I'm putting my password in right but it never lets me.

Why don't you set your preferences to log in automatically each time you visit? I think I've only logged in manually once or twice in 9 years at airport Internet cafe.

Actually it's been doing this for me to for a while. However, they are in order from newest to oldest, so it's not a worry, unless you're the sort kept up at night by these sorts of wee problems...

I was going to post something in the Speakers Corner/Sports but there is no longer a Baseball Topic (or a Hockey Topic) thread. Pretty sure there was in the past, there are only four topics showing-not sure why the rest disappeared?

Threads in most sub-forums of "Speaker's Corner" auto-delete themselves after some period of inactivity (I can't recall how long that period is right now).

Gotta keep those threads alive to keep 'em ... well ... alive.

Okay-I am blaming the Cubs for this-took em 108 years for them to win the World Series!!

I bet if you start a new Rounders thread that the Cub's victory will keep it going for another 108 years. :)

That's the way, Hennybhoy. We've lost a few good threads the same way. New topics in the Sport forum are always welcome. Unless the poster's a feckin' spammer. 8)
