No fly list-no buy. But there is no enforcement of existing laws. Here in MA, we had one of the first in the nation gun laws (around 1976) the Bartley-Fox act, that would mandate one year in jail for a person in possession of an unregistered gun. To the best of my research, in forty years, less then 10 people have even been charged with this and not one convicted. The politicians pat themselves on the back for passing a law and it is never enforced.

The fact that your legislators are having a civil-rights style sit-down, in their own place of legislating, just to try and make this conversation happen around some basic, simple, non-controversial gun control measures that 70 - 90% of the American public actually support, shows that the system is seriously broke. And the choice between Clinton & Trump is a sad one indeed.

That said, Mike, the fact that Trump & Bernie are/were among the top candidates shows that americans as a whole are tired of politics as they have been and - for better or worse - are looking for change.

Nice reply Low D. Based on our political posts, we are probably at different ends of the spectrum politically, but there is such a lack of common sense. In the time I have posted this, a deputy in New Orleans was killed, shot in the back three times by a 19 year old on probation. Stolen gun. Baltimore may riot again.

I just don't see any hope of any leaders emerging that can bring people together-W. Bush didn't-Obama made things worse. Pelosi, McConnell, Ryan, all useless.
Cruz is scary. None of the Republican candidates were halfway decent. Bernie-well, he gets an A for honesty, but... Liz Warren-liar and hypocrite.

Recent history has shown that people can collaborate for the greater good-Ted Kennedy/Orrin Hatch, Reagan/Tip O'Neil. Don't see any evidence of that today. Just a sad state of affairs.

Chris Martin of Coldplay says "Rhianna is the Frank Sinatra of Today"

God help us! I guess being married to Gwynneth Paltrow caused brain and hearing damage. :P

He's far worse than her.

She made one good movie and he, he ruined the goddamn Super Bowl Halftime show.
Jumping around like he's on Kids Incorporated or some shit.

Nobody has to click on her stupid, vapid, snobby website. Whereas his talents are force-fed to us, like Bono.

They clowned him so bad.

So, as of this afternoon, I have less teeth than Shane McGowan!! Had my front two teeth taken out today and had some bone graft done, so hopefully my new smile will be as good as Shane's when the implants go in early next year. So kids, make sure you brush your teeth and wear a facemask when playing ice hockey.

Did you get a flipper? I'm obsessed with those flipper commercials they have on ghetto tv channels.

Good luck.

My dentist is kinda cute, but I may have a mild case of Stockholm syndrome.

Yes, got a flipper, but it won't be fitted properly until the swelling and stitches are gone. I am going to scare people with my Bobby Clarke look for the next week and embellish my old hockey injury that led to this (not mentioning subsequent infection that led to some bone loss).

My dentist is very good, young Vietnamese-American guy. Kind of hard to disagree with your dentist though, when you are captive in the chair-and he has drills and picks!!

Jake's got a set of those, but his clip in.

He hardly ever wears them, they mainly sit in a jar of some disgusting looking liquid on the bathroom shelf.

What a pity. How did you find out? Not much of a promotion then, eh?

I found out via a post on Twitter this morning.

I should have at least suspected something though because Spider posted a photo of the van at Lime Street Station and put up the caption 'I am going', but nothing else has been said.

Mrs. Me witnessed an attack by a heavily intoxicated (and presumably mentally ill) man on a 13 year old school child waiting at a bus stop this morning.

The good news is buddy was arrested, and Mrs. Me stayed with the kid, supporting him, till paramedics and mother were with him. She left, understandably shaken, to go to work, but was accosted by another crazy angry man yelling at her in the "F@#%ing hooker! Think you're too good for me?" vein. Whatthefuck is wrong with these men? This poor (as in low-income), First Nations 13 year old, overweight and with a speech impediment, having to wait for the school bus on a sleezy scary block (er, my old neighbourhood), getting attacked by one man, and a witness, instead of being any help at all, just sees the opportunity to harass a woman who stopped to help.

Anyway, I'm bringing pumpkin cheesecake home, which should help her out. And i happen to work at a community centre attached to the school the young man attends, so I've got the teen centre staff alerted to offer him some support. I love those folks.
