The fact that your legislators are having a civil-rights style sit-down, in their own place of legislating, just to try and make this conversation happen around some basic, simple, non-controversial gun control measures that 70 - 90% of the American public actually support, shows that the system is seriously broke. And the choice between Clinton & Trump is a sad one indeed.
That said, Mike, the fact that Trump & Bernie are/were among the top candidates shows that americans as a whole are tired of politics as they have been and - for better or worse - are looking for change.
