Post Thu Jul 09, 2015 7:41 pm

Since it been relatively quiet on the Raft, I figured I would restart the Family Bragging thread, separate it from the Saying something nice thread.

So proud of my wonderful nieces.

Reagan -Placed 48th in her age class at the North American Irish Dancing Championships last week.

And my difficult middle child continues to impress (well, me anyway) Here she is at the Xmas classical violin recital tearing up the rug with fiddle tunes! (er, that's mine there on the right).

Interestingly, her duo partner here was in a choir with her when they were like 4 & 5 years old, and were best of friends... not to meet again until they ended up with the same violin instructor 12 years later!

Partly in honour of her just departed great-granddad, my youngest is doing presentation on the 1916 Easter Rising to her school mates.

At least that's how I assume the presentation will go. Or should go.

My 7th grader just received a varsity letter for competing on the high school dance team, was named student of the month, won the middle school spelling bee and then a couple of weeks later won the geography bee. If I was her class mate I think I would hate her :)

LOL, a few years ago maybe. These days, at 12 and a big fan of gods and myths, it would be more likely that Cú Chulainn, Moritasgus and the like would end up involved.

My difficult middle child is an accomplished violinist & pianist who is now studying composition at university. In the last year, she's taught herself guitar and is now working on playing while singing. So this morning, what do I hear her working on but "A Pair of Brown Eyes" and "Fairytale..." Finally, that book of Pogues music i bought 10 years ago is paying off!
