"Return of the Dancehall Sweethearts" is a film by Maurice Linnane about the legendary Irish band HORSLIPS. Among those talking about the band in the film are Phil Chevron, Bono, The Edge and Patrick McCabe. It is now available on DVD. More here: http://www.horslips.ie/rotds.html

Hi horslips fan..

I attended Pat McCabe's 50th birthday party last march with Shane MacGowan.
Barry Devlin and Jim Lockhart got up and did a few numbers with the band on the night. Shane also did dirty old town . I taped it on camcorder. If you're interested i can put it on dvd for you. The quality iss't marvelous at times as it was quite dark at the venue but nonetheless it's a nice bit of footage.
We are Tex's Riders and we come from Nenagh town

I just saw this - brilliant interview with Phil along with a fleeting glimpse of him and Pete Holidai looking even younger than they must have been in the film (1977?) and even some ancient audio of Phil interviewing Horslips in 1972 when he was 14/15, for his school magazine. No real Pogues content though - the producer must of just taken it as read that Horslips were an influence on the Pogues.
