"Because the football's on" is most definitely not an adequate excuse for missing a Pogues gig. Priorities please, people.

There's a football competition on? When? Where? Why weren't Ireland asked to join in?

Today is the day,
and they say it is dull and overcast,
oh NO,
there is only singing in my heart,
Because what ever the weather,
I'm On the sunny side of the street..
Come On

The sun'll be shining this evening. And The Pogues'll be playing. Can't wait.

Have a great day fh, I hope there are none of your traditional series of unfortunate events this time.

This is the first time since 2001 I haven't attended at least one gig each time the pogues have performed and I am seriously depressed about it.

Absolutely right. Shane on brilliant form last night, up there with the best I've seen him. Band great as ever. Still buzzing today. More thoughts later.

No surprises last night set list wise. They did play 1000s though. The crowd took a long time to get going and I wonder how much under capacity the field was. I thought it a little odd seeing all the people in camping chairs sitting around to watch the gig - but hey they showed up and gave their support so you can't knock that. I've never been a big fan of the outdoor gig that starts in daylight but a pogues gig is a pogues gig and so what if it was awkward to get too .......
No substitute guitarist last night - just Terry doubling up on an acoustic looking guitar when the song needed it then reverting to mandolin on the others. The gig was bolstered by the same faces of the brass section who were excellent as always and always add the depth of sound live that I think we have all got used to. Shane was on great form - he held it together well but looked like he was really struggling with his tray at the end :D he couldn't bend it , dent it or anything.
I was pleased when leaving that there were loads of people leaving the field cos when we went in there wast that big a crowd there and I hate it when the band play and its under supported or the venue is too big.
Think maybe I'll go to the France festival thing maybe - I wonder if there is anything else in the pipeline though - melkweg maybe - or are the dates announced all we are going to get ???? Anyone ???

What is announced is what is announced. You should assume that those are the only shows and act accordingly.

That doesn't mean there WON'T be other shows, but if there are nobody 'round these parts knows about them right now.

That's what it says on the back of the tour T-shirts too, so it must be true.

Set list for Thetford Forest (apologies for handwriting, I was at a Pogues gig at the time...):

I'm guessing that there aren't any more dates to be announced this summer, as once it's on the tour shirt it's set in stone (as it were): https://www.flickr.com/photos/15437467@N07/14247747089/in/set-72157645201373215

Still vaguely buzzing from Saturday night in the forest. Shane was in tremendous voice, and seemed to be enjoying himself a lot: "Just 'cause you shot Jesse James doesn't make you Jesse James. Tssssssshhhhhk.'

Talking to the stewards, they reckoned there were about 2,000 tickets sold, but it was a bloomin' big field. I think the venue capacity's about twice that, but from what they were saying a fair few of the concerts don't sell out. The Pogues were the third gig of that week, and the biggest crowd. We enjoyed the compere's little explanation at the beginning of the night about how it was all in aid of the trees. You're right, the crowd did take a while to warm up, but got going in the end.

Took a few snaps, but they're not up to much as we ended up a bit too far back for photos. Here if you want to see:

Though I did like the one of dancers in the dark:
