2 tickets for Thetford Forrest. By all accounts the summer gigs are supposed to be pretty well organised. Nearest train station if anyone is travelling is Thetford, not sure on cost for taxi's. A11 roadwork's may still be ongoing so if driving give yourself plenty of time.

Actually I think the nearest train station is Brandon, though both Brandon and Thetford are a few miles away. You'd probably need to taxi to the venue from either. Thetford Station is a bit bigger, not sure if that means more trains stop there.

Local interest note: Brandon Station was used as a location in an episode of the long-running BBC TV series Dad's Army. Allegedly.

Anyway, The Pogues in a forest. Ticket confirmation received. What could possibly go wrong?

And so it was that the firehazard curse was invoked. Again.

I look the curse straight in the eye! Ha! [Looks over shoulder.] Erm, where did that evil cackling noise come from?

Still thinking about the whole Thetford Forest thing. It's five hours on the train and costs more than a trip to London. It's three and a half to four hours to drive and then we have to find accommodation.

On the other hand I haven't had a big adventure for years so still toying with the idea. I may just wait a few weeks to see if anything else comes up.

A Fen Tiger eating colleague reckons that Brandon is the best place to head to for anyone travelling from the North West or the Midlands, accomodation however is a bit sparse, pack a sleeping bag and pray for sunny weather!

If yous are playing only tree based gigs, there's a small ring of trees up at the top of the field at the back of my house.
