The Pogues: 30 Years

Post Thu Nov 28, 2013 4:22 pm

Review by Alex Petridis in Guardian Music:

Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Nice long article. We all know Petridis (and the Guardian in general) like the Pogues. But surprisingly no mention of the effort Philip put into all this, or actually of his role in the Pogues. All he mentions is that "Lorelei" sounds like padding - seems a bit mean-spirited, I thought. As for the rest, a good and even overview.

thanks for this link. The article is ok but the amount of comments and stories of old are fantastic. Shame they don't post on here, we'd have some great threads.

Hard not to get worked up about that. I mean, i guess i could accept a comment that it didn't "fit", but "padding"? Really? Great song, was always one of my favourites from P&L right from first listen. Damnit.
