Dark Streets of London was the first single released on Stiff by The Pogues.

As RICHB mentions and shown here, http://www.pogues.com/Releases/Disco/Singles.html, Dark Streets was not released by Stiff and was released in June not October. Trick question!

Stiff released it in 1984. I have one with catalog no. Stiff BUY207. Boys From The County Hell have catalog no. BUY212. But I guess this was released before Boys From The County Hell.
The Stiff release had the band named as The Pogues while the pre stiff versions had the band named as Pogue Mahone.
