Positive vibes being sent to you Mr. Chevron from Moncton, NB. Thanks for taking the time to come through here and Fredericton with Finny and the boys some time ago.

new medicine

Post Fri Jun 07, 2013 11:34 pm

Dear Mr. C.

Today in the Dutch newpaper ''De Telegraaf":

Experimental drug available today
For 'given' patients with head and neck cancer, treatments will be available today from a (not registered yet) innovative medicine .
It's Nimorazole (or Nimoral) of the Danish biotech company Azanta.

Originaal Dutch text is:
Experimenteel medicijn vandaag beschikbaar

Please don't give up!

Thank you. Nimoral is typically intended for use at the stage when radiotherapy may still have some beneficial effect. Unfortunately, my radio days are done.

"... has no plans to write his own memoir ... it sounds like a lot of hard work ..."

True about all of that, and though I am sure you could add a nuance to even the most well-repeated story of Poguean debauchery, it is true that the market may not bear it to be worth the effort. That said, I have no doubt that a good and ambitious editor could turn the "going to the theatre" thread into an absolutely essential guide to the performing arts of the last 10 or more years. It has beautifully honest and blunt criticism, and is never without wit. But most of all I feel it informs the reader (even one as ill-bred as myself) as to how the performing arts are meant to be appreciated.

Well, as for my own contribution to the thread, a sympathetic editor would need to get in touch with DZM, who would convey my in principle approval in my absence and oversee quality control. DZM would also relay my wishes that any such enterprise would financially benefit the uphold of Medusa for as long as the five copies sold held out in that regard. Copyright in such a circumstance would also be retained in perpetuity by Mr DZM and his aliases, again by my explicit wishes. Or, more likely, nothing will happen. Either way, I am grateful for the kind words and trust they are not entirely aimed in my direction. I find the other contributions efficacious, for my part.

Mr DzM is both surprised, and embarrassed, by such generosity.

I have been asked or rather told by the locals in various St.John's hostelries to pass on their good luck, good health messages to Philip. One guy I spoke with told me of the time he flew to New York in 2007 and paid a scalper[ticket tout] a fortune for the gig on St.Paddy's day, he said that seeing The Pogues came second in the biggest thrill of his life stakes, first was becoming a Dad.H e aring about Philip clearly upset both him and his wife, affected me too, I have to say.

So very, very sorry to read these words. Your music means so much to me... the soundtrack of my life. My husband and I met at a Pogues concert, both diehard fans. Thank you for bringing us together, thank you for all of your work. Keep fighting, and know that so many are thinking of you and sending love and strength.
