Years ago, upon a completely happenstance meet-up with your friend, Joe Strummer, all I could manage to form quickly and coherently were these words, which, again are pretty much all I can think to say to you today:

Thanks for all the amazing music. You are a huge part of my life.

Everything Mr. Chevron does is notable, but his outlook is inspiring.

I hope the cancer doesn't become lethal until you are at least 100.

I can only echo the sentiments from other posters, and send you love and best wishes Phil. Absolutely devastated to read this news.

It is always hard to find the right words in times like this (especially when Mr. Chevron sets an incredibly high standard with his writing), but I would like to echo everything said above. Besides the obvious happiness the music of the Pogues brings to all of us, Mr. Chevron has been a friend to all of us, reaching out to those of us having a bad time, via pm or dedication of 1000s or indulges us on the reasons why there were no fiddles in the Pogues. Even at 50 years old, I find it pretty damn cool that a rockstar comments on my posts.

So, being positive, I hope for many more visits to theatre for you and hope to see more replies when asked "When will the Pogues be coming to (insert city/here)".

"Too damn cold."

Or did you mean from Mr. Chevron?
“I know all those people that were in the film [...] But that’s when they were young and strong and full of life, you know?”

From Mr. Chevron (of course) we can't let this disease mess with forum staples like above or such rarely(tic) asked gems as "Will Shane be appearing with the Pogues" !!

I've had a really tough day today so to come home to this news is a bit of a blow.

I don't know what to say really. Well yes, I do actually, here goes.

Take care Philip, from both me and Jake. We both think the world of you. Thank you for getting us after show passes and for taking the time out to speak to us during the interval when we came to see The Playboy of The Western World at the Old Vic it was much appreciated. Without you and you're posts on the Going To The Theatre thread, I would never have got back into the theatre, or decided I wanted to be a playwright, which I still do and love to do and I am still trying to make it in. I would like to think that some day you'll come and see a show of mine but, we'll see how things go.

Jake and I will be thinking about you and praying for you in our own little ways and I said it last time and I'll say it again, if you need me you know where I am.
