The Pogues & the Irish Fiddle

I find it unusual that the Pogues studio albums have no Irish fiddle playing, it being considered one of the most important instruments in the traditional repertoire of Irish music (according to wikipedia)

Why is this so? Where the London trad sessions traditionally without fiddle?
