I just pre-ordered the special edition...I've never had trouble with international Amazons....(probably use Amazon UK more than Amazon US.)

Is that the actual artwork for the deluxe edition?
I don't know how marketing work out....and if certain things are planned before recordings are made.

There will be separate DVD, CD and Blu-Ray formats worldwide.

A special limited edition package including CD, DVD and a special booklet with unseen photos, extra DVD material and suchlike, will be avaialable only from the Universal Music website in France (details later.)

Revised: the limited edition special package will now be widely available for sale worldwide and not just from the Universal France website.

It seems to only be available from Amzon France but im not very good at this type of thing ha ha

Well, point taken perhaps, but Lionel Grosheny and the other folks at Polydor knew enough about real music to offer this opportunity in the first place!!

So i can sleep tight ;)

I don't think so. We have not yet approved artwork so my guess is this is a placeholder graphic.

Understandably, Mr Polydor and Mr Universal in Paris were keen to steal a march on their worldwide affiliates as they had originated the project.

I would love to see the Gig-Poster (as shown at the first page of pogues.com) as CD-DVD cover artwork, think it looks great!!!

They merchandise stand in L'Olympia had copies of the poster on sale that had been signed by the band for 50 euro each. It was a high quality print on a heavy, matt paper. It was stunning. I was very tempted but declined. When i left the venue there was guy on the street selling the Gig Poster that was a high quality print but on a lighter weight gloss paper for 3 euro each. These were promotional copies that would be used for advertising. The reverse side is the promo for a Metallica gig. When i get it framed, guess which side will be facing out 8)

That Gustav Doré image is not universally loved by everybody in the band, so a live shot or shots is the more likely cover.

I wish I had seen the signed posters, was this the first night or second?

When we got there on the second night we bought the last two shirts as the next delivery was stuck in traffic or there abouts, would of glagly parted with thr euros for that.

The high quality poster was a limited, numbered edition of 100 copies only, all signed by all 8 Pogues. Of these, only 80 were put on sale, the remainder used as souvenir gifts to people who had worked on the shows. My hunch is those 80 will quickly gain in value.

No chance of recreating the IISFFGWG cover with you being able to stand this time (ulcer wise)

Damn, did not see the autographed posters. Would have snagged one of those for sure. Any left in Paris? We are heading back from Italy on Sunday before we fly home Monday

It is actually an idea we considered but our old asses were never going to come off the winners in that unequal contest. All the same, I think I'd have stayed seated - the introduction of the battered old suitcase so I could sit down was one of the most serendipitous moments in Poguetry, it transformed both the context and the composition.

We did, however, take the opportunity to do some new band shots, backstage at the Olympia, our first since those "sofa" pics from Rak Studios about 6 or 7 years ago.
