I just found out today that Dr. Ralph Stanley has recorded acapella
versions of the Velvet Underground's "White Light/White Heat" and
Captain Beefheart's "Sure 'nuff 'n' Yes I Do" for the soundtrack to
Lawless, the new hillbilly gangster movie penned by Nick Cave.

I haven't heard them yet because I'm still at work, but I've been
thinking about it all day!

Yeah, but I know I won't have the commitment. I'll never be as good at it as I want to be.
I am quite good at making my liver loathe me, however.

In which case I feel I should offer deepest apologies for the way I treat you.

Fr. McGreer looks nothing like I pictured in my head.
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

Today I learned that I really must not miss The Pogues again.

Not that there was any way I was going to get to Paris this week, but still.

There are ten times more germs on the average mobile phone than in the average toilet.

Don't worry, there is an issue of quality over quantity at play.

If only you could get a reliable signal on a toilet, we could all dump our mobiles. As it were.

Apparently, some woman who is a member of the royal family has breasts. Bit of a shock, but seemingly true because there are actual photographs of them in France.
