I enjoyed Poor Paddy, reminded me of the demo version on JLTSITE with everyone joining in on the chorus.

Thanks.

But this brings me to the point to place the first time something like critism. Just a little bit, of course ;)

This setlist is superb, and absolutely outstanding for an 30th anniversary gig.

But:
Why is there so a difference between the other 'Poguesonly' gigs in Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin?

It would have been just fair, to bring them up something special, too, like the visitors in paris.

Just my 2 cents. And it does not mean, that the german gigs where crap, they were great as usual. But i think a 30th anni has deserved more than an usual gig. Here in Paris, happened, what i mean!

There are several answers to this question, but the main one is economics. The revenue from German touring does not allow us to bring Ella and the brass section. In all likelihood, this is also true of Paris in normal circumstances but these shows were being underwritten by Polydor in Paris, who are releasing the DVD/CD.

I have seen some German shows in the last years...it was always warm if not hot. Sun was shining. I do not wanna hear FTONY in the summer. That is like eating christmas food in July...

Something like that was in my brain before i wrote it, Philip.
And pls don´t take me wrong. It was just a little note from me. Likely because of the fact i loved to hear Andrew singing ;)

I've just got back to the Dirty Old Town of Salford from Paris. Just to echo what has been said but what a gig. As a fresh faced 15year old I saw my first Pogues gig in 1987. Now I'm 40, a Grandad (I know-I started young) but this show was just amazing, the venue, the atmosphere. The venue is similar to Manchester Apollo in design but so much better. I even treated myself to a bottle of champagne prior to the gig. (when in Rome, or Paris in this case.) To Philip and any other band or crew on here, thanks for everything and please keep going!

And i've just got back to County Tipperary. What a few days that was! Fantastic gigs on both nights and a magnificent venue. Met loads of great people and had one or two pints (very fucking expensive pints   )

For the DVD out-takes they should add James falling (2nd night). I missed it but i was chatting to forum member Spin and he said James fell backwards over a monitor. Hope you're OK James.

A bit of a stage invasion also on the 2nd night, at least one guy managed to get up with the band

Thanks to everyone who made the gigs happen 8)

Glad you made it home safe Father. Mrs. Cadillac and myself really enjoyed your company along with the rest of the crew.

Great gig :D , great venue ,we were standing/ dancing at the back but still felt part of it ,it was a proper buzz from start to finish , music for stirring the soul and their best gig I've seen so far . Look foward to watching the DVD It will be a worthy contender to Jaques Brel Olympian perfomances . Come on you bastards !

Yeah, i have to say the same. What really made the few days was meeting up with you all. Mr & Mrs Cadillac, Carmen, Kathleen and Rich, Alja and Uri, Kilkenny Cat and his lovely lady (sorry, can't remember name  ).......................Now over to the Who Have You Met thread.........
