We are in Birmingham on a two day visit. Only been here half a day and done the town already.

We have plans to do the National Motorcycle Museum tomorrow if we can find it, mainly for Jake's benefit though.

There are more nutters here than Liverpool.

Headed for an epic jaunt on Route 66. Travelling with Fred Eaglesmith, Bill Poss and The Fabulous Ginn Sisters from Chicago all the way to L.A. 18 days of music! also joining us will be Jon Dee Graham, Mary Gauthier, Robbie Fulks, Roger Marin, Audrey Auld, and anyone else who wants to pick up a banjo! Been looking forward to this one for a long time. Booked it before Les Pogues announced the Paris shows, and couldn't work the vacation time to do both. :(

I've just got back from a club 18-30 holiday in Zakynthos (Greek Island). Something, I'll never do again. I'm too old!

I've got 15 Annual Leave days to take before the year is out, I better try and book something else. Use 'em or loose 'em as the saying goes.

Looking at returning to Goa in either Nov / Dec or going the whole hog - Christmas / New Year Bash. Last year we had Fairytale blazing across the beach , it was Christmas Eve Babe!! We tried teaching a local Goan singer 'Paulie' at Ruffles Bar - so many people kary croaking. ended up with all the old favourites including The Irish Rover! There's a brilliant night market at Arpora - open stage I'm sure The Pogues would be made very welcome:) We have had many a good year coming back from the sun to fantastic Pogues Christmas gigs, especially 2010, snow at Manchester Apollo followed by a treck into Manchester, drunken banquet in China town with a much needed fish pedicre the next day.............. Any Goa fans out there??

I get 25.

I got an extra 2 1/2 because I came in on a Saturday at 7am to 3pm. No idea how I worked out that that equaled 2.5 days but I did! :D

Okay, I'm not on that route, but tell me when you'll be in - is it Abilene or Amarillo?

We roll into Amarillo TX on Sep 21 - heading to the TriState Fair that night to catch Ray Wylie Hubbard! http://www.tristatefair.com/

Any chance you can make it up there?

Going on the annual London trip tomorrow.

I was looking forward to it but developed a virus yesterday and cannot breathe properly. :( Hopefully it will have eased off by tomorrow.

Been: Portland, OR
Going: Jamaica
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save
