As the linked thread reveals, there is considerable dissent about its title, a not unusual phenomenon with instrumental Irish music. The chances are the original composer didn't call it anything at all, which will most likely have led to it being named after him if he was identified with it, in order to distinguish it from O'Brien's Polka or Murphy's Polka or whatever. We've always known it as "The Kerry Polka", which was how Terry Woods introduced it to us but again, if you read the informative thread, you may decide that "
A Kerry Polka" may be more accurate.
