Those have been some of the best days of my life. Now I'm in the Philippines and you're coming to this side of the world but not heeeeeeere! WHYYY???!!

First we have to be invited to the Philippines. Then we graciously express how honoured we are to have been invited. Then we tell the promoter the bad news and then he tries to talk down our fees, seldom with much success. Then the tickets are put on sale. Every one of them sells and everyone leaves with a smile on his face.

Shouldn't there be a gig in there somewhere? Never mind, we can arrange that too for a small additional fee.

Michelle & Ben

If you leave something to be signed backstage 30 mins before the show - ask for the Pogues' Production Office - hopefully Zoe or one of her many minions will get it back to you by prior arrangement. It's a tricky business with 8 people in the band, each with his own valet and chauffeur, but it's been known to happen. Me, I'd just forge 'em.

Thanks muchly Philip, we'll give it a whirl & see what happens :)

TOKYO MARCH 28

Doors 18.00
POGUES 19.00

NB: I have just been informed there will be no aftershow tonight, as the band has a really early airport call Thursday morning.

I'm not discounting one or two characters who may well stay up all night!

I have just learned that you will be playing at Bluesfest in Byron Bay next month. Bugger. I am holed up in hospital waiting for a heart transplant. Can't go. I'm a longtime fan and your music has helped greatly to get me through seven long months being in here. Please make sure you get back down under in the next few years so I can see you live.

Best of luck with the transplant. I have Christian Barnard's autograph somewhere. My Dad met him in the 1960s in the course of his work.

Thanks Phillip. I'm a lawyer so a lot of people are wondering why I need a heart at all! It's a pleasure to chat with the bloke who wrote Thousands are Sailing. I'm sure you've heard it before but I do prefer your interpretation to Shane's. Only just, mind you.
