The Best of George Formby - George Formby
The Golden Age of The Music Hall - Various Artists
The Glory of The Music Hall - Various Artists

Looking forward to hearing these. I love Music Hall. Unfortunately the one I wanted the most is out of stock so I've had to put it on back order, but never mind, there's enough here to keep me entertained over the Bank Holiday weekend.

'21' - Adele, the most unwanted Christmas present, ever!I played it twice,HATED it from start to finish. This morning i took the 'best selling album of 2011'[some people have lousy tastes!]to my local charity shop, where upon the young assistant working there remarked''not another inwanted Adele.......'' i thought about trading my copy in for a Max Bygraves or Lonnie Donnegan lp,but there was nothing by them available.Sigh.On my way home i treated myself to cds by Gillian Welch and Kate Rusby, now there is quality for you!

One particular person gave that very same album to both myself and another member of this household for our respective birthdays last year (within a few days of each other... perhaps she got discount for bulk purchase). Both CDs met a similar fate.

People often buy gift CDs on the principle that you can't go wrong with the year's best seller. It's the only possible explanation for the continuing massive sales of Brothers In Arms

I returned to the charity shop i donated Adildo's '21',its still in the rack along with FOUR other copies, however every cloud ....in the vinyl section amongst the Abba,James Last and Kenny Balls was a Bill Fay lp,in very good condition and only 75 pence!Back in the day, Bill Fay probably sold less albums then Nick Drake,my Dad was a huge fan of both, but he gave all his vinyl away, but not to my favourite charity shop! But,bang up to date,i just purchased a cd by a Canadian three piece,The Once, heard them on the radio the other day and i was blown away!

It's well worth 50c and you'll notice that Miss West shares the same taste in cover versions as The Radiators, having covered "You Turn Me On", which also appears on Sound City Beat.

Just scooped a quartet of 70s Ontario bluegrass LPs for super cheap, and with combined shipping:

Dixie Flyers - Cheaper to Lease (w/ Wille P. Bennett on harmonica playing the fiddle parts)
Denis LePage - Larger Than Life
Denis LePage & Station Road - Denis LePage & Station Road
Denis LePage & Station Road - AT THE COWBOY ARMS HOTEL

Denis was the banjo player in Dixie Flyers, and did a lovely blugrass "Somewhere over the rainbow".

Now, whovever can name another banjo player who tackled that number, you'll win a free mp3!

Just heard Whitcomb's original for the first time. Interesting fella.

I'd rather listen to Phyllis Diller cover Stones songs over Mae West any day:
